2022 has been underway for a while now but every now and then it’s still fun to look back. And I haven’t talked about the authors I discovered in 2021 yet. Candyce did a TTT for this one, but I would love to talk about some of these authors as well! So let’s take a look at some of the authors I read for the first time in 2021.
Robert Jordan
With the Wheel of Time tv show starting I had to get into the books. It took me forever to actually pick up the first book but once I started listening to the audiobook I flew through it. Last year I read the first 2 books in the series and I’m currently listening to book 4. I hope to get pretty far into the series by the end of the year, fingers crossed that works out as I think I will!
Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
THIS WAS SO GOOD! I loved this dark academia YA thriller as lot. The mystery was great, the writing addictive and the message powerful. I can’t wait for Faridah’s next release, I already added the untitled book with no synopsis, no teaser, no release date to my to read list on Goodreads haha.
T.J. Klune
Everyone has been raving about The House in the Cerulean Sea and I have to say I was a bit sceptic. Was this book overhyped? Could it actually be that good? Yes, yes it was that good. I really loved it and it also gave me the nudge to pick up my eARC of The Extraordinaries. Another book I really enjoyed. Now I just have to pick up some more T.J. Klune books!
Akwaeke Emezi
Pet had been on my TBR for a while now and I was very curious. This is not your typical book but I did really enjoy it. And I would love to read more by Akwaeke, the writing style was very interesting and I would like to see what they’d do with other stories.
A.J. Hackwith
Based on the title this was a book I wanted to read for a long time haha. And The Library of the Unwritten did not disappoint! So you can bet I will pick up more A.J. Hackwith books. First I want to read the rest of the trilogy and by then I’m sure AJ’s next book will be out as it has a release date in 2023 haha.
Julie Abe
I was very excited for Eva Evergreen and I really loved the story! The sequel was released last year and I really should pick it up soon. Julie also has another book out and a 2022 release coming soon so I have a couple of books to pick up. I’m excited to find out how I like the rest of her books!
Sophie Gonzales
I got an eARC for Perfect on Paper and to be honest, I didn’t expect to love it. But I was in the mood for a contemporary read and this one was all I wanted from it! Since then I’ve also read If This Gets Out, and that one was amazing as well. I will take a look at Sophie’s backlist books but I’m also highly anticipating her next release.
Those were a couple of the authors I first read in 2021. I loved these books and I’ve already read some more books by some of these authors. And I can’t wait to pick up more books by all of them! Have you read any of these authors? Let me know in the comments down below!
I love The Library of the Unwritten. I have the second one to hopefully read soon!
