Unfortunately the past two weeks haven’t been good for my want to read list on Goodreads. Since my last Down the TBR Hole I’ve added 12 books to this shelf. Oops!
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 835 (my last post ended at 823, so these couple of weeks didn’t go completely as planned…again…)
The Bookworm Crush – Lisa Brown Roberts
Oh, why haven’t I read this one yet?!? I have an e-arc and the paperback on my shelf. This book is one I’ve been looking forward to. I mean the main character being a bookworm already makes me want to pick it up. I need to soon!
Keep
My Typhoid Mary – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows
My Typhoid Mary is the third book in Mary series by these three authors. The first book is releasing in a few weeks, so we have a ways to go before this one will be in my hands. I’ll remove it for now. I’m so glad these authors decided to write another series together.
Remove
The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh
The Beautiful is another case of why haven’t I read this yet?!? Again, I have the e-arc and paperback, haha. I did start this and got 20% in I believe before getting distracted, haha. The third book is releasing later this year, so it’s time to get a move on.
Keep
Verona Comics – Jennifer Dugan
My nerdy heart is always happy when books are about comics or books or a store that sells either of these. Verona Comics has rivaling stores? And I’ve heard this is kind of a Romeo and Juliet retelling? I have the paperback on my shelf and will need to read it in the near future.
Keep
Any Way the Wind Blows – Rainbow Rowell
Yet again another book that reminds me I need to continue with different series. Last year I did a reread of Fangirl and Carry On, so I would read the sequel to the latter, but it didn’t happen yet. Any Way the Wind Blows is the third book and releasing later this year. So until I read Wayward Son I’ll be taking this off my shelf.
Remove
This Coven Won’t Break – Isabel Sterling
How have I not finished this one yet?!? I actually started reading it and got over half way done. It just seems I Haven’t marked it as currently reading. I’ll keep this around so I know to continue with This Coven Won’t Break soon. Hopefully I remember enough to continue where I left off.
Keep
Yes No Maybe So – Becky Albertalli & Aisha Saeed
Becky Albertalli is an author that writes books that I’ve really enjoyed. This one is definitely still on my list and it seems like it would be a good summer read.
Keep
The Falling in Love Montage – Ciara Smyth
Yay! A book I’ve already read, but just have a different edition on my want to read list. I still don’t understand that these aren’t all connected, haha. The Falling in Love Montage was a really good book and one I highly recommend. I had the audiobook and it was really good.
Remove
What Makes Us – Rafi Mittlefehldt
Okay, the cover looks a bit familiar, but I don’t remember What Makes Us at all. The story sounds interesting, but I’m not really sure it still makes me want to pick it up right away. I’m going to remove this for now.
Remove
Of Curses and Kisses – Sandhya Menon
This retelling is another one that’s on my shelf and one I have an e-arc of. I really need to stop doing that, haha. I have a feeling Of Curses and Kisses will be a fast read. I should read this one soon with the sequel coming out in the near future.

Removal Percentage: 40%
Current “to-read” shelf: 831
So that was my Down the TBR Hole for this week. I did get to remove a few and I’m definitely happy about that. 2021 is a crazy year filled with books that sound amazing, so it may be hard to keep my shelf not exploding, haha. What do you think of my choices? Would you have chosen differently? Let me know in the comments!
