Normally we do tags on Thursdays, but lately both of us have been having a harder time finding tags we want to do or think are fun. That’s when I stumbled upon this new bookish meme: #MGTakesOnThursday created by BookCraic. Middle grade books have become a bigger part of our TBR, so this looked like a lot of fun. Let’s take a look at what this is all about!
How to participate:
- Post a picture of the front cover of a middle-grade book which you have read and would recommend to others with details of the author, illustrator and publisher.
- Open the book to page 11 and share your favorite sentence.
- Write three words to describe the book.
- Either share why you would recommend this book, or link to your review.
Bridge of Souls (Cassidy Blake #3) – Victoria Schwab
Publishing date: March 2nd 2021 by Scholastic.
Favorite sentence on page 11
New Orleans is – something else. It’s not the kind of place you can capture in a photo. It’s loud, and crowded, and full of things that don’t fit, the clop of horse hooves at odds with the honk of a sedan and a saxophone.
Since I read an eARC, I’m not sure what page 11 would be, so I just scrolled to the 11th page of the story in my kindle app haha.

Why I recommend this book
This is more of a general recommendation for the whole series to be honest, because I wouldn’t recommend picking up this third book without reading the rest of the series. Cassidy Blake is a great main character in this MG series. The stories are actually quite spooky and gave me the chills multiple times. You visit an amazing city in each book (Edinburgh, Paris and now New Orleans). And there is a big focus on friendship, something I adore in books. You can also expect a review for this one very soon!
It was great reading a MG again, hopefully I can pick up some more this year! If I do I will definitely let you all know. Do you read a lot of MG? And have you read this series yet? Let me know down below!
Oh this is a fun way to get a random line to share! I read the first in this series and loved it, even though I don’t do a lot of MG reading. Schwab is fantastic and honestly I have a major soft spot for settings in Scotland. Anyways, glad this seems like a great addition to the series!
