It’s been about a month since I did my last Down the TBR Hole post and that didn’t go well. Since my last post I’ve added 32 books to want to read shelf on Goodreads. There are just too many books coming soon that sound interesting. Hopefully I can clean out some of these books.
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 803 (
my last post ended at 771, which means I didn’t do well again… oops…)
Plant Earth is Blue – Nicole Panteleakos
I’m glad that Planet Earth is Blue is on this list now. I remember wanting this book when I heard about it. This middle grade sounds amazing and it has some really great reviews. I will be putting this on my wishlist ASAP!
Say You Still Love Me – K.A. Tucker
K.A. Tucker is an author I’ve enjoyed books by before, but I have to say this one isn’t appealing to me as much anymore. A few friends of my have read it and said it was okay. I think I may come back to this one in the future, but for now I’m going to take it off of my shelf.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January – Alix E. Harrow
Okay, I actually received an e-arc of this on Netgalley before it released and I still haven’t gotten around to it. Oops! I have heard amazing things about The Ten Thousand Doors of January, so I’m going to keep this one around.
Rebel Girls – Elizabeth Keenan
I’m a big fan of books that take place in the 90s. I mean that’s the decade I grew up in. If I’m honest I don’t really remember this one and no one I know has read it yet. Who knows, I may come back to it in the future, but I don’t see myself reading this one anytime soon.
Meet Cute – Helena Hunting
This is one I do remember seeing and Meet Cute does sound like a book I’ll love. Again it’s the case of so many books, so little time. I don’t own this one yet, so I’ll remove it for now.
The Girl the Sea Gave Back – Adrienne Young
Adrienne Young is an author I hear nothing but amazing things about. The Girl the Sea Gave Back is a book that takes place in the same world as Sky in the Deep. Both of these books are on my shelf, so I need to read them this year.
The Ones We’re Meant to Find – Joan He
The first thing I noticed about this book was the cover. It’s just stunning! A few friends of mine have read Joan He’s previous book and loved it. This is definitely an author I want to give a go, so I’ll be keeping an eye out on this book releasing in May.
The Lady Rogue – Jenn Bennett
Another book with an amazing cover!! And another book I have an e-arc from that I really need to read. I’ve read a contemporary by this author before and loved it, so I’m hoping she does fantasy just as well.
Cinderella Is Dead – Kalynn Bayron
I own this book and am so looking forward to reading it. Cinderella Is Dead got a lot of hype before it released and by the looks of it this book deserves all of this attention. It’s on a list of buddyreads I want to to do with a friend. So it will be read this year!
Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake
I’m actually shocked I haven’t read this one yet. Five Dark Fates is the final book in the Three Dark Crowns series and I’ve loved the previous books. I have this one on my shelf and Isabelle and I plan to read it together soon.
Removal Percentage: 30%
Current “to-read” shelf: 800
So this was my latest Down the TBR Hole post. If you’ve read any of these books I’d love to hear if you think I made the right decision or not. Let me know in the comments! I’ll definitely be doing this post every two weeks and try to get this shelf under control.
