Unboxing | Blog B’Day Gift Boxes

We love buying each other gifts! Last year we didn’t have the time to make a gift box for each other so we thought this blog b’day was the perfect opportunity to do one now. We decided to give each other mostly books but to also include a goodie or two. So let’s see what we got each other!

It’s been awhile since we’ve made a book box for each other, so this was so much fun. Once again, I had a hard time deciding what books to put on my wishlist, but in the end I was able to make a list and was really excited to see what she put together. Let’s take a look!

Isabelle started this unboxing with this cute otter card. That otter will put a smile on anyone’s face! She wrote me a really sweet message that was actually pretty similar to the message I wrote her. We keep proving that there’s a reason we blog together, haha.

Then I got these three really cute bookmarks. On the back of the Lara Jean bookmark there’s a quote and on the back of the kitty on the pile of books is a dog. I’m a cat lover though, so that’s the side I’ll mostly use. These are all so cute and I can’t wait to use them.

Nana Vol. 1 – Ai Yazawa

I was actually quite surprised to receive this manga. Apparently Isabelle talked to my boyfriend to see what comics I had and he suggested this. I started watching the anime with him awhile ago (we still need to finish it) and wanted to try the manga. I did start digitally, but I can now continue in this paperback. This was such a pleasant surprise!

Scared Little Rabbits – A.V. Geiger

I wasn’t surprised that Isabelle chose Scared Little Rabbits when I put it on my list. We both really enjoyed the Follow Me Back duology by this author. Scared Little Rabbits has been on my radar, so I’m really happy she got me this one. I may just have to try and squeeze this one in on my October TBR.

Tilly and the Lost Fairytales – Anna James

I actually bought Tilly and the Bookwanderers quite awhile ago, but haven’t read it yet. I recently saw the third book was releasing, so I wanted the sequel as well. This was so it would motivate me to get to the first book sooner. I’ve really been enjoying middle grade books, so I’m excited.

Not Like the Movies – Kerry Winfrey

Not Like the Movies isn’t a book I’ve heard much about, but that I’ve seen a few times. I love the cover and this sounds like a romance that I’ll love. It’s nice to have books to just sit back and relax with and that don’t make you think too much. This seems like one of those books that will also leave a big smile on my face.

I put a bunch of books on my wishlist haha, once I started I just couldn’t stop. So it was definitely a surprise which ones Candyce would get me. She already told me she ordered me a goodie that didn’t arrive yet. We did decide to already do the box exchange so we could include this unboxing in the b’day week. But once I get the goodie, I will show you all! Let’s take a look at the books and card I already got.

Candyce got me this super cute unicorn card with a very sweet message. We wrote each other a very similar message so that was pretty funny haha. And of course I quickly advanced to the books because I was so excited to see what she got me!

Fence vol. 4: Rivals – C.S. Pacat, Johanna the Mad & Joana Lafuente

I love the Fence graphic novels so so much and was a bit ashamed I didn’t own the fourth volume yet! You can bet I will read this one really soon and I expect it to be one of my favorite graphic novels of the year.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer vol. 2: Once Bitten – Jordie Bellaire, David López, Sas Milledge, & Raùl Angulo

I really enjoyed the first volume of this Buffy the Vampire Slayer series and somehow I missed that the second and third volume already released. Hopefully this one is as enjoyable as the first one and I can get my hands on the third one as well.

Raybearer – Jordan Ifueko

Look at that cover! I’m really excited for this story but I didn’t know the UK cover was this beautiful. Luckily Candyce did look at all the different covers and she found this one. It is gorgeous and I hope the story is just as good.

The Library of the Unwritten – A.J. Hackwith

YAY! I’m so happy I now own this one. When I found this book I was super excited for it but didn’t buy it right away. A couple of friends did buy it and I really wanted to read it as well haha. And now I can! Hopefully this is as good as I think it will be.

We’re super happy with everything we got from each other and once again were reminded of how much fun it is to buy each other gifts. What books we got do you recommend we pick up first? Let us know in the comments!
