Down the TBR Hole #33

Seeing how I keep adding new books to my Goodreads TBR, I decided to did this just a little more often than I have before. It’s only been two weeks since I did my last post, but with the number of books still on that list, it’s never too soon to do this again. I’m trying to make this a regular post!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Current “to-read” shelf: 632 (my last post ended at 593, which means the last few weeks didn’t go too well…)

Someday, Somewhere – Lindsay Champion

Okay, this cover is stunning, but I don’t know if I’ll ever pick it up. Once again I totally forgot about this book. Sometimes there are just too many of them. I love when I can read a book and know what’s going to happen, but I have so many of those and I don’t own this one yet.

Every Breath – Nicholas Sparks

I used to read every Nicholas Sparks book released, but I haven’t picked one up in years, haha. So I think it’s safe to say that I won’t be picking this one up.

Sherwood – Meagan Spooner

Unfortunately Hunted was a big disappointment for me, but Sherwood still sounds really interesting. There aren’t many stories that I’ve run into with a female Robin Hood. The covers are stunning, so I really hope that I like this one!

The Elizas – Sara Shepard

Sara Shepard is the author of Pretty Little Liars and I loved that show. Also, I’m starting to like mysteries and thrillers more and I think this one sounds really good. The Elizas has gotten some mixed reviews by friends on Goodreads, but I’m still curious.

The Chase – Elle Kennedy

I loved the Off Campus series and I’m mad at myself for not starting this one yet. I’ve heard amazing things about these books and Elle Kennedy is an author that always makes me laugh. The Briar U series need to become a priority on my TBR.

Empress of All Seasons – Emiko Jean

Empress of Seasons has a stunning cover, but it’s not a book I hear about that often! There are a few mixed reviews on Goodreads and I don’t own it yet. The story sounds amazing, but I just don’t think I’m going to get around to this one. I can always add it again if I run into this book!

Bookshop Girl – Chloe Coles

I’m the first one that will sign up for books that take place at bookstores or have anything to do with characters loving books. I don’t think I ever heard anyone I know talk about this book at all and it’s gotten pretty low ratings on Goodreads. So I’ll be removing this one.

Rage – Cora Carmack

Rage will definitely be staying on my list. Roar was a really interesting book and I’ve been waiting quite awhile for the sequel. Rage was delayed a few times, but is finally out in the world, I just need to pick it up.

Blood and Sand – C.V. Wyk

If I’m honest, I don’t remember much about this book. Blood and Sand has a warrior princess and a handsome gladiator sounds like a book I need to read. A few friends of mine really enjoyed this story, so I think I’ll let it stick around for awhile.

The Reckoning of Noah Shaw – Michelle Hodkin

I’m not removing this one, because I don’t want to read it, but The Reckoning of Noah Shaw is the second book in The Shaw Confessions. I haven’t read the first one yet and I don’t leave sequels in my TBR if I haven’t read the first one.

Removal Percentage: 50%
Current “to-read” shelf: 627

This week wasn’t too bad, I was able to remove half of the books in the post!! I’m afraid to see how many books will be added to this list the next time I do a Down the TBR Hole, haha. If you’ve read any of these and think I made the wrong choice, let me know in the comments!!

  1. I haven’t read any of these books but great job removing 50% from the list! My want to read shelf has 152 books as of now but I’m hoping to not add more to it. It’s difficult!!

    1. Wow, 152 is great!! I hope to eventually get down to that many.
