Royal Update #24

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I honestly think it’s going to be awhile until this part of the Royal Update gets more interesting! Our country is slowly going to start opening up again, but I don’t think I’ll be doing much anytime soon. In my eyes there is still a bit too much risk in everything. My train ride to work a few times a week is enough adventure for me at the moment.

The weather is starting to get nicer here and it’s nice to see everything blooming (even if my allergies hate it). We have a rose bush in our backyard that’s becoming really pretty. Here’s a look at that.

Yet again another week I can’t tell you that I didn’t add any new ARCs, haha. I got two new books on Netgalley:

The Unadoptables – Hana Tooke I’ve seen this middle grade book talked about quite a bit. It sounds really cute and part of it takes place in The Netherlands, so that’s fun. I’ll

Live Like Legends – Kate Cornell Entangled Teen sent me an e-mail inviting me to read this book. Even though I’m trying to limit what I read, Live Like Legends sounds interesting. A fantasy with royalty and politics is something I love, so I’m very curious how it all plays out.

Other than that, I received a couple of other books.

The Two of Us – Kennedy Fox I’ve loved most of the books I’ve read by this duo, so I was curious when this one is announced. It takes place in the quarantine right now, so it’s either going to hit too close to home or be amazing.

The First Score – Amie Knight It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten to read a new book by Amie Knight. I’ve loved all of her books so far, so I can’t wait to read The First Score.

The Modern Gentleman – Meghan Quinn I love everything this author writes. She’s good at creating amazing characters and making me laugh. The Modern Gentleman is already live, but there were some difficulties with getting my ARC on my Kindle, so my review will be up soon.

Misconception – Julia Wolf I’ve been so excited for this book! There hasn’t been a book by this author I haven’t loved and she creates such amazing characters. I’m so excited for Misconception!

I’m still reading multiple books at once, but I’ve finished quite a bit since my last Royal Update (this part always takes me the longest to write, haha). Since my last update I finished From Blood and Ash, Don’t Tell Him I’m a Mermaid, Down Among the Sticks and Bones, The Teaching Hours, Stone Princess, All the Stars and Teeth, Harrow Lake, The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane, Unsupervised, Fae’s Destruction, Ghost Squad, Beneath the Sugar Sky & Date Me, Bryson Keller.

At the moment I’m reading Avenged by Love, The Two of Us, Girls Save the World in This One, In an Absent Dream, The Iron Flower, We Come Apart and Crown of Feathers.

I hope to start a few books this week as well. I want to start Aurora Burning, The Bone Charmer, The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kit Sweetly and Incendiary.

This week I have some book covers, announcements and even some Disney+ news!

After buying the laptop, it’s safe to say that I’ve spent quite a lot of money, haha. So no new items to show you in my shop log this week!

I’ve been really good in trying to catch up on some shows. Spending the weekend catching up really helped. I’m now done with A Million Little Things, The Resident, Station 19 and many others.

I also watched the very last episode of How to Get Away with Murder. While part of me is happy with how everything wrapped up and ended, I’m also pretty angry about a few things! If you’ve watched it, you probably know what I’m talking about. I think they did good with stopping now though. There’s only so much to think of to keep this show going.

I’m still on a Glee kick at the moment and haven’t listened to much else. Even at home, I have it on Spotify when I’m listening to music and reading. These still all make me happy! For some reason I’m not getting the playlist in the post like normal, but if you click on the link it’ll take you to what I’m listening to.

So that’s it for my royal update this week! How has everyone been doing? Read anything interesting? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
