Seeing how I keep adding new books to my Goodreads TBR, I decided to did this just a little more often than I have before.
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 499 (my last post ended at 492, I don’t think I’m ever going to get this to stay lower)
Thief’s Cunning – Sarah Ahiers

I loved Assassin’s Heart. It’s been awhile since I read it, so exact details are fading, but I know it was good. Thief’s Cunning isn’t a sequel, but more of a companion. Even though I think I’ll enjoy Thief’s Cunning, I actually forgot about it. For now, I’ll remove it!
Remove
The Becoming of Noah Shaw – Michelle Hodkin

Justa couple of days ago I talked about the Mara Dyer trilogy in this post. I was wondering if I would still ove it just as much. The Becoming of Noah Shaw is the first book in the spinoff that came after that trilogy. Noah was my favorite character and I own the book, so this one isn’t going anywhere.
Keep
The Valiant – Lesley Livingston

Once again, I marked a different version as to-read than the one I actually read. I’ve enjoyed the first two books and hope to read the third in this trilogy soon! The Valiant is really an underhyped series that deserves a lot more attention! But this one I can remove, because I’ve read it already!
Remove
Poison’s Kiss – Breeana Shields

This is a book I received in a book box quite some time ago. Poison’s Kiss is about a teenage assassin that can kill with a kiss. I have a feeling I know where this story will go. I honestly haven’t heard much about this book in the book community! I actually own this book, so it will stay on my list for now.
Keep
Frostblood – Elly Blake

Frostblood is another case of why haven’t I read this book yet?!? I actually own the first two books in this trilogy and I love their covers! I don’t think it will be original, but I have a feeling it will be very interesting. So definitely keeping this one!
Keep
The Edge of Everything – Jeff Giles

I remember seeing this book being promoted quite a lot right before release. This story sounded really good, but a few of my friends didn’t like this one at all. The Edge of Everything has gotten some pretty mixed reviews. I don’t see myself reading this one anytime soon.
Remove
This Man – Jodie Ellen Malpas

This Man is actually a book I tried reading at the beginning of 2017. I don’t mind dominance in books, etc., but this book just rubbed me the right way. At the time, I thought it was maybe just my mood and I’d get back to it eventually. Two years later and I still don’t have the urge to try again.
Remove
Bottled – Carol Riggs

I don’t remember adding this book at all. It seems interesting, but there really isn’t a chance I’ll be reading it anytime soon. Also, a couple of my friends have added is as to read, but none have read it.
Remove
Romeo and What’s Her Name – Shani Petroff

Shani Petroff is an author I’ve really enjoyed so far. Her book My New Crush Gave to Me is a favorite of mine that I want to reread around the holidays. Romeo and What’s Her Name is the only book by her so far that I haven’t read yet and I own the book! So it’s not going anywhere until I read it.
Keep
Before I Let Go – Marieke Nijkamp

After reading This is Where it Ends, this author definitely left me wanting a new book. Before I Let Go is another book that I can’t believe I haven’t read yet. The cover makes me think winter, so maybe I need to add it to my January TBR. I am still interested in this one!

I actually managed to remove half of the books in this post again! Unforunately, I already have a feeling more books will be added before I write another Down the TBR Hole. What do you think of my choices? Are there any you would’ve kept or removed? Let me know in the comments.

I also really wanna read Frostblood! Don’t know either why I haven’t done it yet …
And Assassins Heart is also on my tbr.
I really need to do this! My TBR is out of control!

I just removed The Valiant from my TBR too though for a different reason haha. I have too many to read and it just didn’t make the cut. I definitely haven’t already read it.
