Tag| “I Dare You” Book Tag

Another Thursday, another tag! We were tagged by sincerely karenjo to do this “I Dare You” Book Tag and I will be doing this one today. There are quite a lot of questions so let’s get in to it right away!

RULES:

  • You must be honest
  • You must answer all of the questions
  • You must tag at least 4 people

1 – WHAT BOOK HAS BEEN ON YOUR SHELF THE LONGEST?

This is an insanely hard question as I have so many childhood books! I’m gonna go with an unread book and that ‘honor’ goes to Cop Town by Karin Slaughter. I’m a bit embarrassed to typ this haha. Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors and definitely my favourite thriller author. I love all of her books and can’t believe I still haven’t read this one.

2 – WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT READ, YOUR LAST READ, AND THE BOOK YOU’LL READ NEXT?

As I’m typing this my current reads are Phobos2 and Restore Me. The last book I finished was Saga Volume 2, read it in one sitting last night! And ‘m hoping to read Obsidio next, still waiting to get it in the mail. If I don’t get it before finishing Phobos2, which wil probably be tonight I think I’ll pick up Heartless by Marissa Meyer. We’re going to an event were we’ll be meeting her next week and obviously I need to read Heartless before then!

3 – WHAT BOOK DID EVERYONE LIKE, BUT YOU HATED?

There aren’t that many books I really hate but one book a lot of people seem to like is Firstlife by Gena Showalter. I can’t ay I hated it but I also didn’t really like it. Same goes for Alice in Zombieland by her, it might be that she just isn’t for me!

4 – WHAT BOOK DO YOU KEEP TELLING YOURSELF YOU’LL READ, BUT YOU PROBABLY WON’T?

H A H A H A. There are so many books I plan on reading and we all know I can’t read all of them. At this point I can’t think of any that I for sure won’t read. Apart from the rest of the Alice in Zombieland series, I’m unhauling them.

5 – WHAT BOOK ARE YOU SAVING FOR YOUR RETIREMENT?

None haha. I’ve never thought about doing this to be honest. All the books I own are books I want to read RIGHT NOW. But probably some big epic fantasy series.

6 – LAST PAGE – READ IT FIRST OR WAIT TIL’ THE END?

WAIT TIL THE END! What kinda monster are you haha. I really hate spoilers so I wouldn’t read the last page first. What I do tend to do is check how many pages my copy exactly has and sometimes I spoil myself a bit. I hate hate hate when that happens and I try to look at that page count really carefully but I can’t stop myself from doing it.

7 – ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: WASTE OF PAPER AND INK, OR INTERESTING ASIDE?

I hardly ever read them but do think they can be pretty interesting. I’m usually super eager to pick up my next read and won’t take the time to read the acknowledgements but every now and then I’ll skim them.

8 – WHICH BOOK CHARACTER WOULD YOU SWITCH PLACES WITH?

Ginny Weasley! I had to think about this one for a bit as I wouldn’t want to trade with a lot of awesome characters. Most are orphans or have horrible living conditions. I love Ginny, I would get to go to Hogwarts, play Quidditch, have an amazing family, be fierce. Do I need to go on?

9 – DO YOU HAVE A BOOK THAT REMINDS YOU OF SOMETHING SPECIFIC IN YOUR LIFE? (PLACE, TIME, PERSON?)

Quite a lot of those! We do How I Met My Book every other Sunday and all of those books remind us of something and we tell you all about it.

10 – NAME A BOOK THAT YOU ACQUIRED IN AN INTERESTING WAY

This would also fall under the How I Met My Book categorie but I can’t really think of any right now 🙁

11 – HAVE YOU EVER GIVEN A BOOK AWAY FOR A SPECIAL REASON TO A SPECIAL PERSON?

I feel so boring! But I can’t say that I have.

12 – WHICH BOOK HAS BEEN WITH YOU MOST PLACES?

These questions are so hard! I would say my ereader haha. But also Outlander book 2. I’ve been bringing it on every trip I’ve went lately because I hope I’ll pick it back up when I can read it for a longer while. It’s been to France and to a couple of spots in the Netherlands.

13 – ANY “REQUIRED READING” YOU HATED IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT WASN’T SO BAD TWO YEARS LATER?

I didn’t really hate the required reading in high school but I also haven’t felt the urge to pick up any of the books we read back then haha. There are so many amazing books out there so I don’t want to pick up any books that I don’t think will be 4 or 5 star reads.

14 – USED OR BRAND NEW?

I love brand new books but I don’t mind used books at all. And price wise I would definitely go for used books haha.

15 – HAVE YOU EVER READ A DAN BROWN BOOK?

YES, not ashamed of that haha. Apart from his latest release I’ve read all of them and really enjoyed them. I also own the last book so I hope to get to that one soon.

16 – HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A MOVIE THAT YOU LIKED MORE THAN THE BOOK?

I just talked about this with Candyce and while I usually like the book more than the movie or TV show there is one big exception. I absolutely LOVE the tv show The 100 (as you might have read last Friday) but I don’t really like the books.

17 – HAVE YOU EVER READ A BOOK THAT’S MADE YOU HUNGRY, COOKBOOKS INCLUDED?

The Wrath and the Dawn! I love that duology and there are so many mouth watering dishes in the books, especially in the first book. I’m getting hungry just thinking about those books!

18 – WHO IS THE PERSON WHOS BOOK ADVICE YOU’LL ALWAYS TAKE?

CANDYCE <3 nothing to add 😉

19 – IS THERE A BOOK OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE (OUTSIDE OF YOUR USUAL READING GENRE) THAT YOU ENDED UP LOVING?

Another difficult one! I think I’ll go for Illuminae as I think that one has made me pick up more sci-fi books recently.

That was this week’s tag! I’m tagging the following bookworms

Kwante in Wonderland

The Spinebreakers

Het Leven van een Boekenworm

Nosestuckinabook

Looking forward to your answers ladies!
