We only have a couple more Down the TBR Hole posts this year and I’m happy to say I still haven’t added any new books to my want to read shelf. We are starting at the same number we ended the last post with.
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. This meme is now being hosted by Jody from I’m Into Books. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 479 (my last post ended at 479. So that’s the same as at the end of the last post.)

This week is mostly filled with books that sounded good to me, but I never got around to actually purchasing. There are definitely some I’d still read. I just don’t think that I’ll get to them anytime soon. The two I did leave on my list, I do have and hope to read in the near future.
Removal Percentage: 80%
Current “to-read” shelf: 471
Another Down the TBR Hole post done! This was a really successful post for me. Hopefully we’ll get this list down a lot going into 2026! Have you read any of these? Should I keep any of the books I removed from my want to read shelf? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
