It’s been almost a month since I did a Down the TBR Hole post. Even though I haven’t had anything taken off of my want to read shelf, I haven’t added any either!
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. This meme is now being hosted by Jody from I’m Into Books. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 485 (my last post ended at 485. So that’s the same as at the end of the last post.)

This week is a mix of books I have on my shelves, books I’ve already read another edition of, and books I don’t currently own/have plans to read in the near future. I have to say I took more off of my want to read shelf than I was expecting this week!
Removal Percentage: 60%
Current “to-read” shelf: 479
It’s weird to think that I only have a couple more Down the TBR Hole posts before the year is over. I don’t think we’ll get under 400 books on my want to read shelf, but I’ve definitely made progress this year. Have you read anything I talked about this week? Should I pick up any soon? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
