As a big Crime Junkie fan ofcourse I wanted to read the debut novel by the podcasts host Ashely Flowers. I was super curious to see how her storytelling would translate to a book. As I mentioned in the July Wrap-Up, saw a TikTok video and I just had to pick up The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The TikTok was about the song The Hanging Tree and someone commented that it was featured in this book. Since I adore that scene in the original trilogy, both in the book and in the movie, I couldn’t resist! Especially in the movie, it is just so emotional and it was probably my favorite scene from the movie. So let’s see if this latest book lived up to all the expectations!

I love 10 Things I Hate About You so of course I’m going to be intrigued by a book called 10 Things I Hate About Pinky. At the start of the year I read Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon but was pretty disappointed by it. Everyone seems to love the When Dimple met Rishi books so I decided to give Pinky a go! I first heard about The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells in one of Emily Fox’s booktube videos and thought it sounded pretty interesting. And then I found out all four of them were available on Scribd. So I binge-listened to them super quickly. They are novellas so they’re all quite short and you will go through them in no time at all. There will be a full length Murderbot novel in 2020 and I’m very excited about that. But for now, let’s see what I thought about the four novellas.
