The first month of the year is already over! January can be a month that feels like it takes forever but goes by in the blink of an eye at the same time. Today it’s time for our bookhaul! Did we add any new books to our shelves? Let’s find out!
Review| Is This a Cry for Help? – Emily Austin
Last year, I started reading more literary fiction and I want to more this year. Is This a Cry for Help? caught my eye and a great way to start reading more of this genre. Today I want to tell you more about this book and what I thought.
A big thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for providing me with an eARC to read and review. This doesn’t affect my opinion in any way.

Bookish Beginnings on Friday | Mrs Shim is a Killer – Kang Jiyoung
We have a lot of eARC’s and we want to promote them a little bit more. So we decided to do some more Bookish Beginnings On Friday. Today I wanted to share the start of Mrs Shim is a Killer. The title immediately grabbed me and I’m really curious about it. So let’s dive in! Continue reading “Bookish Beginnings on Friday | Mrs Shim is a Killer – Kang Jiyoung”

WWW Wednesday #103
It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
TTT #414 | Bookish Discoveries I Made in 2025
We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Bookish Discoveries I Made in 2025. I find topics like this really hard! Most of the time I have a pretty good idea about what I like, so the one thing I do ‘discover’ are new to me authors. I’m not sure I read books by 10 new to me authors, but we can see how far we’ll come. Let’s jump in! Continue reading “TTT #414 | Bookish Discoveries I Made in 2025”
Royal Update #307
We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too! Continue reading “Royal Update #307”
Down the TBR Hole #164
We’re starting this Down the TBR Hole post with the same amount of books on my want to read shelf as last time. As long as I add nothing this year, I’m happy! Haha.
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. This meme is now being hosted by Jody from I’m Into Books. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
Bookish Item | My Favorite Reads of 2025
While I read 66 books in 2025, only 30 of those were ‘new’ reads, the other 36 were rereads haha. So guess that makes it a bit easier to pick my favorite reads right? I will say I really enjoyed most of the books that I read. After taking a look at my 4, 4.5 and 5 star reads I decided to do a top 10. It was pretty hard to narrow it down and some books I really enjoyed didn’t end up in my top 10, but I had to be strict and so this is my top 10. Let’s jump in! Continue reading “Bookish Item | My Favorite Reads of 2025”
Bookish Item| February TBR
Like I said in last month’s TBR, I’ve really been enjoying following my mood and reading what calls to me at that moment. That being said, I still do enjoy making a list of books I’m excited to read at the moment. So keep on reading for my February TBR.
