We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I’ve actually had a busy couple of weeks! My mom and I have been talking about getting a mother/daughter tattoo for awhile now and finally decided on what we wanted. When we went to make an appointment, we didn’t even have to wait a week. So we started with a little morning snack before heading there. It was my first tattoo, so I was a bit nervous, but it didn’t hurt as much as I expected. We’re both happy with how the tattoos turned out.

Then later that week we had our monthly book club. Most people enjoyed When Women Were Dragons and we had a nice discussion. We recently started meeting in a cafe in a library that isn’t too far away and it’s a great spot for our discussions.

And last weekend, I had a four day weekend. I basically spent this weekend relaxing and reading. My favorite way to spend my time, haha. The boyfriend and I also tried out the boardgame I bought recently: Mlem! It was a fun game to play.

I’ve been actively working on tackling some Netgalley books lately, but ended up going on a little requesting spree, haha. I ended up with 5 new eARCs on my Kindle that I’m excited to read: Rules for Ghosting, Casket Case, Best Hex Ever, Confounding Oaths, and A Winter Wish.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: The Tainted Cup, This Day Changes Everything, Imogen Obviously, When Women Were Dragons, None Shall Sleep, We’re Never Getting Home, The Hemlock Queen, The Mystery of Locked Rooms, A Sign of Affection Vol. 8, My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 Vol. 1, We Got the Beat, Dead Voices, Woke Up Like This, Canadian Boyfriend, Playing for Keeps, An Addiction Called Love Vol. 3, and Roll for Initiative.

I’m currently reading: The Book Eaters, The Will of the Many, and Bye Forever, I Guess.

Next I’ll be reading: Starter Villain, The Dragon Republic, and Truly, Madly, Deeply.

Look at me having another thing to add to my Shop Log in a Royal Update, haha. My boyfriend pre-ordered the Kobo Libra Color and I was so curious about an ereader that had a color screen, but wasn’t a tablet. Needless to say I was so impressed, I ordered one the same day he got his and I had it in my hands. I’ll be using this for ebooks of newer releases, because I really do want to add less physical books to my shelves.

During our weekly movie night, we watched Only the Brave. I have to say this was such a great movie and based on a true story. I will say have tissues nearby, because it ends up being pretty emotional as well.

I love Sam Smith’s music and Gloria album is favorite of mine, so I had in repeat again last week. In between listening to Taylor Swift’s new album, haha.
