5 On My TBR | Coming of Age

As we’ve mentioned before, one of our most important reading goals of is shrinking our physical TBR’s. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books we still have or what subjects to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.

This week’s topic is Coming of Age. Now I have a ton of YA books on my TBR, and I’m pretty sure a lot of those are about coming of age. It’s a central theme in a lot of YA stories. So let’s see if I can pick some good ones from my shelves!

1. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

This one is high up my TBR! I bought it last year and I have been wanting to read it ever since. There are so many positive reviews for this one and I’m pretty sure Candyce loved it as well. Also, look at that pretty cover.

2. The Song of Achilles

I like mythology a lot and I have heard nothing but good things about this one. Talking about this one makes me want to pick it up right away actually. Maybe this month will finally be the month I read this!

3. Assassin’s Apprentice

This is such a beloved series by fantasy readers. I haven’t read any Robin Hobb book yet but as a fantasy lover I feel like I really should change that. Lately I’ve seen quite some mentions of this series so maybe that’s a sign I should pick this book up haha.

4. The Night Circus

This one has been on my TBR for quite a while now. I have heard mixed things and I guess reading this book can go either way. However, it does seem like a story I would enjoy and I usually don’t mind a slower read so I still have good hopes.

5. The Hate U Give

I’m a bit ashamed that I haven’t read this one yet. It’s such an important read and I’m sure I will love it, even though it won’t be an easy read. I’ve been putting this one off for years now but I do still want to read it very much!

All of these books are coming of age books according to Goodreads. I would love to hear if you agree if you’ve read any of these books!

  1. I finally pulled Song of Achilles off my shelf this year and was surprised by how easy the writing style was to read. I read it in one go and didn’t really notice the passing of time ???? would def recommend giving it a shot as the writing and the story really sucks you in quickly.
