WWW Wednesday #61

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

When Women Were Dragons – Kelly Barnhill

When Women Were Dragons was my April book club book and it was an interesting one. I wished that we got a bit more on the dragons and some of the book was a bit repetitive, but all in all I enjoyed the story, writing, and messages the author was trying to give us with this book.

None Shall Sleep – Ellie Marney

I love shows like Criminal Minds and I enjoyed the book series The Naturals, so I had a feeling None Shall Sleep would be a book I enjoyed. Our main characters have both dealt with serial killers in their own way and are hired by the FBI to interview teenage serial killers. I have to say that None Shall Sleep got darker than I was expecting, but it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I’ll be reading the sequel.

What are you currently reading?

The Hemlock Queen – Hannah F. Whitten

I enjoyed The Foxglove King and was glad that the sequel was releasing soon after I finished. At the moment, I’m about halfway through The Hemlock Queen. It started off a bit slow and I was a bit confused, but things are starting to come together for me. I’m enjoying the story and I’m afraid for a cliffhanger.

The Mystery of Locked Rooms – Lindsay Currie

To start off middle grade May, I decided to pick up The Mystery of Locked Room. I love middle grade books and I read 40% of this book in one sitting. Our main character tries to beat escape rooms with her two best friends and when her family is about to lose their house, they try and go into a fun house that apparently has a treasure, but has shut down. I’m loving this story so far.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Happy Medium – Sarah Adler

I may have already finished Happy Medium before this WWW Wednesday comes online, but at this moment I’m planning on reading it next. The publisher reached out and asked if I wanted to be on the blog tour and I couldn’t say now. I love that the main character pretends to be a medium, but actually comes face to face with a ghost.

A Letter to the Luminous Deep – Sylvie Cathrall

So I actually wanted to read my eARC before release day, but that didn’t end up happening. That being said, I do really want to read this soon. A book told through letters and a fantasy world underwater definitely has my attention. I have a feeling I’m going to love this book.

So that’s another WWW Wednesday! Have you read any of these? Or what are you reading at the moment? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
