As we’ve mentioned before, one of our most important reading goals of is shrinking our physical TBR’s. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books we still have or what subjects to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is adventurous. There aren’t any books that come to mind right away but I’m sure I’ll be able to come up with a couple after looking at my shelves. Let’s jump in!
1. The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien
The ultimate adventure book I would say! While I haven’t read the book yet, I have seen the movies. And Bilbo might not want to, but he’s telling us a tale of an adventure for sure. I’m really excited to read this book at some point!
2. A Curious Beginning – Deanna Raybourn
Veronica is going on the journey of a lifetime in this book and if that’s not an adventure then I don’t know what is ;). I’ve heard great things about this book and I really hope I will enjoy it as much as I think I will.
3. Kings of the Wyld – Nicholas Eames
I haven’t thought about this one in a while! But I do think this one fits the topic perfectly. A band of retired mercenaries, now old, fat or drunk (or all of the above) have to get back together to save the daughter of one of them. Sounds like a fun ride!
4. Invictus – Ryan Graudin
This one has been on a lot of lists already and I still really want to read it haha. I think I will love this story about time traveling thieves. Ryan Graudin has written multiple books that sound really cool and like they’d be right up my alley, hopefully this will be the first of many I enjoy.
5. The City of Brass – S.A. Chakraborty
After loving The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi I knew I had to read The City of Brass soon. Unfortunately I still haven’t read this one, but I hope to do so kinda of soon. It sounds like something I will love and traveling to this world will for sure be an adventure.
These are 5 books on my TBR that I think will have adventurous stories. Have you read any of them? Do they fit the topic in your opinion? And which one should I pick up first? Let me know in the comments down below!
Great list! Kings of the Wyld totally captured my attention. It sounds like exactly what I need right now.
