Bookish Item| Five Star Predictions: 2024 Releases Edition

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a five star predictions post, so I decided to change that today. This time I want to take a look at some books releasing in the rest of 2024 that I think will be five star reads. Hopefully I can come back later this year and say that I was right about all of these! Let’s take a look at some of my predictions!

Funny Story – Emily Henry

All of the adult books I’ve read by Emily Henry have gotten five stars so far! I have a feeling that Funny Story will be added to that list of five stars. I mean falling in love with your ex-fiancee’s ex? That’s not something I’ve read before I don’t think.

A Letter to the Luminous Deep – Sylvie Cathrall

Besides a stunning cover, I’m always pulled to books that are told through letters or anything like that. There’s just something so special about that. A Letter to the Luminous Deep seems to be even more special, because it takes place in a mystical underwater world.

When Haru Was Here – Dustin Thao

You’ve Reached Sam hit me in all the feels, and it’s not going to be any different when it comes to When Haru Was Here. This book is described as We Are Okay meets Wandavision. Both of those things I enjoyed, so I’m excited to read this one. Books with magical realism is something I enjoy, so I’ll be surprised if this isn’t a five star read.

Nothing Like the Movies – Lynn Painter

Better than the Movies is one of my favorite books and I was so excited when Lynn Painter announced the sequel! Nothing Like the Movies follows Wes and Liz in college together. I’m so glad we get more time with these characters.

This Ravenous Fate – Hayley Dennings

This Ravenous Fate takes place in the 1920s in Harlem, which is one of my favorite times to read about. And it has vampires! I have a feeling this may be a bit darker, but I’m here for it. A perfect rainy day read!

So here are five 2024 releases I’m expecting to be 5 star reads! Do you have any five star predictions of your own? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
