We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is characters I’d like to go on vacation with. I’m never good at prompts like these and they honestly interest me less than other topics, so I decided to give next week’s topic a go. So here are 10 unread books on my shelves I want to read soon. Let’s take a look!
Lore Olympus: Volume One – Rachel Smythe
Lore Olympus is a series I’ve been hearing great things about since it was still only a webtoon. So I ordered volume one and it’s been sitting on my shelves since 2021. I really need to sit down and start this series.
The Princess and the Fangirl – Ashley Poston
Geekerella is still one of my favorite YA books and I haven’t continued the series yet. I started the audiobook for The Princess and the Fangirl, but at the time it just wasn’t working for me. Sometimes I just have to read a book physically. This seems like another fun summer read.
As Good As Dead – Holly Jackson
The A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trilogy is one that I’ve loved, but I need to finally sit down and read the final book. As Good As Dead is one I think will probably be a bit darker than the first two, but I’m interested to see how Holly Jackson is going to wrap everything up for the characters we’ve come to love.
The Girl with All the Gifts – M.R. Carey
Isabelle gave me The Girl with All the Gifts a few years ago when we did a birthday box for each other. I’ve been told to go into this one knowing as little as possible, so I still haven’t even read the synopsis. This is a book I’ve heard good things about, so I’m excited to finally see what it’s about.
Chain of Gold – Cassandra Clare
I’ve loved the books in the Shadowhunter world and I only have the most recent trilogy to read. Chain of Gold has been on my shelf since it released in March 2020. My favorite trilogy so far is The Infernal Devices and this one is the start of the story about the children our main characters had. I’m hoping I love it just as much as the original trilogy.
My Favorite Half-Night Stand – Christina Lauren
Every time I read a Christina Lauren book I think to myself that I need to catch up with their backlist. This still hasn’t happened and My Favorite Half-Night Stand is one I haven’t read yet. My Favorite Half-Night Stand caught my eye, because our main character uses an online dating service. I always love things like this in romance books.
Flash Fire – T.J. Klune
T.J. Klune is an author that became a favorite of mine after reading The House in the Cerulean Sea. So again, I’ve been working on Klune’s backlist and newer releases. I read and loved The Extraordinaries and did start reading the sequel Flash Fire. You can definitely say that I am a reader that gets distracted by all of the unread books I want to read, so that’s what happened here. It is time for me to get back to Flash Fire and finish this trilogy.
Forever, Interrupted – Taylor Jenkins Reid
Taylor Jenkins Reid writes books that always have an emotional punch and this is something I’ve experienced with every book I’ve read by this author. I only have a few left and Forever, Interrupted is one of them. This one is going to be tragic and I’m going to need tissues.
The Atlas Paradox – Olivie Blake
The Atlas Six was a book that surprised me in a pleasant way and The Atlas Paradox was added to my wishlist right after finishing that book. Part of me is kind of scared to start this one, because my boyfriend read it and didn’t enjoy it. There is definitely still a chance I’ll love this one, so I will give it a go, but I’m hesitant.
Things We Left Behind – Lucy Score
Lucy Score writes amazing romances and I loved the first two book in the Knockemout trilogy. Lucian is a character I’ve been curious about since book one, so it’s exciting I’ll finally be reading his story.
So those are ten unread books on my shelves that I want to read soon. Along with a lot of others, haha. There really isn’t enough time to read everything I want to. What unread books on your shelves are you hoping to read soon? Or what character would you go on vacation with? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
There are so many unread books on my bookshelves that I want to read ‘soon’ that if I listed them all it would be time for next week’s topic!

I love Lore Olympus and The Girl With All the Gifts! It’s been a while since I’ve read it but I’ve been meaning to give it a reread. I hope you enjoy all these books whenever you pick them up! I’m also now looking forward to doing next week’s topic ????
I’ve only read Carey’s and Christina Lauren’s book. I hope you enjoy them.
I enjoyed Lore when I read it. I hope you enjoy reading all of these when the time is right.

I really liked the Good Girl’s series, but AS GOOD AS DEAD definitely has a different vibe than the other books. It has a weird swerve in it that totally threw me for a loop. It’s my least favorite of the series because of that. I’ll be interested to see what you think of it.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
