WWW Wednesday #59

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Cat + Gamer Vol. 3 & Vol. 4 – Wataru Nadatani

Even though I’m not a gamer myself, I love this manga. Cat + Gamer follows our main character who loves gaming and sees having a kitten as a challenge as well. We follow her as she experiences everything as her cat grows and how she fits that into her life. The having a cat aspects are very relatable and you can’t help but smile while reading this.

She’s Not Sorry – Mary Kubica

After loving Local Woman Missing I’ve been wanting to read more by this author. She’s Not Sorry is Mary’s newest thriller and it’s one I couldn’t put down. There were quite a few twists and turns and I didn’t see the ending coming.

If Only I Had Told Her – Laura Nowlin

I was really curious about Finn’s POV after reading If He Had Been with Me and I’m glad the author wrote this book. What surprised me the most was Jack’s POV. He was Finn’s best friend and I think that one was the most emotional of them all.

What are you currently reading?

Your Coffin or Mine – Jacklyn Hyde

I’m about 20% into this vampire romance, but it’s already made me laugh out loud multiple times. I’m loving this grumpy/sunshine romance and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Powerless – Lauren Roberts

A friend and I are reading Powerless together and just got about 200 pages into this book. I knew this was compared to The Hunger Games, but it’s more similar than I was expecting. So much so you can basically see who the characters would’ve been in that book. Things are starting to pick up now and I’m interested to see how this is going to end.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Girl Abroad – Elle Kennedy

Every month I host a swoonalong read for the Facebook group I help moderate. In April we’re reading Girl Abroad. Our main character is going to study abroad in London for a year and it seems her life is going to be a lot different than the sheltered one her retired rock star father wants her to have.

When Women Were Dragons – Kelly Barnhill

When Women Were Dragons is my book club’s pick for April. From what I understand this is a feminist tale set in the 1950s and thousands of women spontaneously turn into dragons. That’s all I really know, but I’m definitely intrigued.

So that’s this week’s WWW Wednesday! Have you read any of these? Or what have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
