This is the first week of April, so it’s time for us to take a look at our most anticipated releases. The last couple of months haven’t been too bad when it comes to books we’re excited about. What about April? Keep on reading to see what most anticipated April releases we’re looking forward to.
Darker by Four – June C.L. Tan (April 2nd)
Besides the stunning cover, all I needed to know about Darker by Four is that it’s described as the Shadowhunter Chronicles meets the Chinese underworld. I have a feeling I’m going to love this story.
Only and Forever – Chloe Liese (April 2nd)
The Bergman Brothers series is one of my favorite romances and I’m sad that Only and Forever is the final book. Viggo is the brother I’ve been curious about for awhile and he’s finally getting his story! This will be a bittersweet read.
Otherworldly – F.T. Lukens (April 2nd)
F.T. Lukens gets the most stunning covers and Otherworldly gets to join that list. All of the early reviews I’ve been seeing describe this as a sweet YA fantasy romance. I have an eARC and the first couple of chapters have me hooked so far.
The Reappearance of Rachel Price – Holly Jackson (April 2nd)
I loved A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and really enjoyed Survive the Night, so of course I’m excited about this newest Holly Jackson release. The story sounds really interesting and I hope it will live up to my expectations.
The Familiar – Leigh Bardugo (April 9th)
I love Leigh Bardugo and so far I’ve loved everything I’ve read by her. This is a historical fantasy and is somewhat based on her family’s history. I’m really excited to pick this one up!
The Hemlock Queen – Hannah F. Whitten (April 9th)
I read The Foxglove King recently and that ending left me wanting more. I didn’t even realize the release of the sequel was right around the corner. I can’t tell you too much about The Hemlock Queen, because it’s a sequel.
Late Bloomer – Mazey Eddings (April 16th)
I’m always excited about opposites attract romances and Late Bloomer sounds right up my alley. Our main character wins the lottery and seems to have people coming all over the place now that they know she wants money. So she buys a failing flower farm with all of her money. Except another woman is there who claims to be the rightful owner. We all know this is going to get interesting.
A Letter to the Luminous Deep – Sylvie Cathrall (April 23rd)
A Letter to the Luminous Deep is a fantasy I don’t know much, but I do know that letters play a big part. That’s all I need to know to want to read this, because I love letters in books.
Funny Story – Emily Henry (April 23rd)
Emily Henry is one of my favorite authors and Funny Story sounds amazing. This ends up being a romance between a woman and her ex-fiancee’s, new fiancee’s ex. I know that sounds like a mouthful, haha.
Song of the Six Realms – Judy I. Lin (April 23rd)
Song of the Six Realms is a YA gothic fantasy romance. It also seems that our main character needs to unlock memories to stop an impending war. I’m definitely intrigued. Also, look at this stunning cover.
Off With Their Heads – Zoe Hana Mikuta (April 23rd)
Off With Their Heads is a Korean Alice in Wonderland retelling. Alice in Wonderland isn’t my favorite tale, but this book sounds really good. I have a feeling this story is going to be a bit weird, but in a good way.
Truly, Madly, Deeply – Alexandria Bellefleur (April 30th)
Alexandria Bellefleur has written a few books that I loved and Truly, Madly, Deeply sounds like it’ll also be up my alley. Our main characters are a lovelorn romance novelist and a divorce lawyer who has sworn off relationships. They decide to co-host a podcast giving dating advice to viewers. That sounds like it’ll be interesting!
Home Is Where the Bodies Are – Jeneva Rose (April 30th)
Everyone has skeletons in the closet they say, but these siblings never expected to find a VHS of a moment none of them remember. Their father is covered in blood, there’s a dead body, and their parents agree to get rid of it. I have a feeling this is going to be an intense ride.
Every Time I Go on Vacation, Someone Dies – Catherine Mack (April 30th)
This title alone had me adding this book to my TBR. It sounds hilarious and with a tagline as ‘As spellbinding as Knives Out’ you know I want to check it out. Hopefully they haven’t overplayed the Knives Out comparison.
So those are the books releasing in April we’re excited about! Do you agree with any of these? Or did we miss any releases you think we need to know about? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
I have Only and Forever and Funny Story on my list. Hope you enjoy all the books you have planned.
