TTT #333| Books on my Spring 2024 TBR

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is books on my Spring 2024 TBR. As you all know, I’m really bad at sticking to TBRs, but I do like talking about the books I’m hoping to read soon. So let’s take a look!

The Poppy War – R.F. Kuang

I’ve been wanting to read this trilogy for quite some time and I know it’s dark, but it sounds really good. I host a series slayers read with someone in a Facebook group I moderate in and this trilogy is what we’ll be tackling next.

By the Book – Jasmine Guillory

After loving If the Shoe Fits (the first retelling in this series), I’m excited to read the next one. This time we have a Beauty and the Beast story and our beast is a jaded and withdrawn author. Sounds good to me!

Happily Never After – Lynn Painter

Lynn Painter is a favorite author of mine and one of my auto-buy authors. Happily Never After is her newest adult romance and I can’t wait to read it. Our main characters are hired to break off weddings. That’s not something I’ve read before. I have a feeling I’ll be laughing a lot.

Magnolia Parks – Jessa Hastings

So Magnolia Parks is a book I’ve put on quite a few TBRs, but I still haven’t read it. I do really want to and I have the whole series (published so far) on my shelves. I’ve heard this is compared to a British Gossip Girl. Hopefully I’m hooked after reading this first book.

Every Exquisite Thing – Laura Steven

Laura Steven wrote one of my favorite book, The Exact Opposite of Okay. Since then she’s published a few book and just got an amazing deal for her first adult fantasy. That reminded me that I still have a few books of hers to read including this feminist YA horror-thriller-romance retelling of The Picture of Dorian Gray. I’m hoping the story is just as stunning as the cover.

Play With Me – Becka Mack

I loved reading Consider Me last year and with a fourth book releasing soon, it’s time to catch up with the series. Play With Me is a brother’s best friend romance. This series was recently traditionally published and the covers are stunning. I have to say I’m surprised this book is almost 600 pages, but I have a feeling I won’t have enough.

Electric Idol – Katee Robert

Another series I need to continue is the Dark Olympus series. I loved Neon Gods and have Electric Idol on my shelf. The first six books are out in the world and the seventh is releasing later this year. Electric Idol is a Psyche and Eros retelling.

Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake

I read the first three books in the Three Dark Crowns series as soon as they released, but for some reason I still haven’t read the fourth and final book. Seeing how it’s been over 4 years since Five Dark Fates released, I do need a little refresher before picking this up.

Hello – Chandler Baker

So I’ve been putting off reading this book, because it takes place during the pandemic when a lockdown was in place. It’s still not something I can ever think I’ll enjoy reading about, but it’s not so fresh in my mind anymore. I want to see what this author did with a story in this time.

Listen for the Lie – Amy Tintera

Since Listen for the Lie released a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been seeing this one everywhere and hear amazing things. Thrillers are something I want to read more of this year and this one sounds like a good place to start. I don’t listen to podcasts myself, but I love that element in books.

So here are ten books I’m hoping to read this Spring. Have you read any of these? Or what books are on your Spring TBR? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.

  1. I love The Exact Opposite of Okay too! I’ve definietly been mean to check out her works outside of contemporary romance/humour but I’m so bad at keeping track of books I don’t yet own that it doesn’t always work. I’ve also been meaning to read The Poppy War for Ages – hope you like it (and the other books on this list) when you get to it! 🙂

  2. I’ve seen Listen for the Lie on a few lists and read a review for it yesterday that made me want to pick it up. It sounds so good ???? The Poppy War is also amazing but incredibly dark fantasy, lol. I hope you enjoy all these reads!
