We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books I’m Worried I Might Not Love as Much the Second Time Around, Candyce did this topic last week as well, so today is a part 2 of the topic. It sounds like a fun but challenging topic, Candyce didn’t make it to 10 and I’m not sure if I will either. Anyway, let’s dive in!
1. We Were Liars – E. Lockhart
I really enjoyed this one the first time around. But a big part of loving this was the unexpected twist. And knowing the twist from the beginning might ruin the enjoyment. So I think I just won’t reread this one ever.
2. Dangerous Girls – Abigail Haas
This is one of my absolute favorite YA mysteries and I have been recommending it to everyone. But at the same time I’m really scared to pick it up again. Will it live up to my memory of it? And knowing how it ends, will it stil hit the same?
3. Raised By Wolves – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I have been telling everyone that this is the best werewolves series I have ever read. And lately I have been debating if I should reread this one. But I’m actually worried I won’t love it the same, especially since I have been reading less and less YA stories. I have been eyeing the audiobooks for a while now, should I just try it?
4. The Selection – Kiera Cass
I really enjoyed this series when I first read them, but would I still rate them the same? Is this the kind of romance I enjoy? I didn’t like the love triangle the first time around and I’m scared I will hate it even more the second time.
5. The Thousandth Floor – Katharine McGee
I really enjoyed this one the first time and I still have the final book in the trilogy on my TBR. But I also remember some elements of the story I didn’t love and I think might judge those parts harsher if I would reread this now. It’s also why I’m not sure I will ever pick up that final book unfortunately.
This was so hard! Of course I’m worried I won’t love any of my favorites the same if I would reread them, but I have been loving almost all of my rereads the past couple of years so that might be an irrational worry. For these books, I do actually think it is a real possibility. Have you read any of these? Do you think rereading them would be a bad idea? Let me know in the comments!
I rarely reread books so this was a topic I swerved. Rereading a book with a twist? Actually I can see that might work – look out for the clues you might have missed might increase your appreciation for the author’s skill even if there’s less of a surprise. Wasn’t that one of the reasons many people watched the film The Sixth Sense twice?
I haven’t read any of these, although THE THOUSANDTH FLOOR is one that was on my TBR list at one point. I still think it sounds intriguing. Maybe one day I’ll actually read it!
Happy TTT!

I’m not familiar with any of these books, so I can’t tell you if you should reread them. I’m also not much of a re-reader. There are too many good books out there to discover and enjoy.
