We’re starting with the same amount of books on my want to read shelf as last time, but as long as I haven’t added any new books I’m happy!
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. This meme is now being hosted by Jody from I’m Into Books. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 759 (my last post ended at 759. So the same as last time.)
American Royalty – Tracey Livesay
So the synopsis says that this book is based on the romance between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. I tend to enjoy royalty romances and this one sounds interesting. While that is the case, I don’t own this book at the moment, so I’m not sure when I’ll get to it.

A Thousand Miles – Bridget Morrissey
After loving That Summer Feeling, I decided that I wanted and needed to read more by this author. I now own a copy of A Thousand Miles. Our main characters go on a road trip. They were best friends until senior year, but their friendship fell apart. This will be an interesting road trip.
Keep
Out of Character – Jenna Miller
Out of Character is another case of I’ve read this one, but have another edition on my want to read shelf. I highly recommend reading this one. Our main is obsessed with a series and part of an online community. This is a coming of age story, but also dealing with family things, and a bit of a romance. I’m excited to read this author’s next book that just released.
Remove
Keeper of Enchanted Rooms – Charlie N. Holmberg
Charlie N. Holmberg is an author I’ve heard amazing things about. Keeper of Enchanted Rooms has a spelled house and there seems to be some type of mystery? I’ll definitely read this one.
Keep
The Messy Lives of Book People – Phaedra Patrick
If you must not, I definitely added this one to my want to read shelf based on the title alone, haha. Our main character uses books as a way of escaping her life and dreaming of becoming an author herself. She lands a job for a bestselling author and when she suddenly passes, she’s asked to finish the author’s last book. I need to get to this one soon!
Keep
Here for the Drama – Kate Bromley
The first book by this author I added to my want to read shelf was Talk Bookish to Me. I mean that title is one I have to read right?!? Here for the Drama is another book by this author, but this time about a character who wants to become a famous playwright. Okay, Here for the Drama still sounds good, but seeing how I still haven’t read Talk Bookish to Me, I’ll take this off of my shelf for now.
Remove
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow – Gabrielle Zevin
This a book that was everywhere when it released and I’ve heard amazing things. I hear it’s very emotional and very character based. There is a copy on my shelf and I hope to pick it up soon.
Keep
You’re Invited – Amanda Jayatissa
I keep saying I need to read more thrillers and You’re Invited is one I want to read. Our main character’s ex-boyfriend is marrying her childhood best friend. On top of that she ends up getting accused of murder. Isabelle loved this one and I’m still very intrigued.
Keep
Out of Her Depth – Lizzy Barber
Okay, Out of Her Depth is one I don’t remember. So I understand why I added this thriller to my want to read shelf, but seeing how I don’t remember it and don’t own it, I’ll be taking this one off of my want to read shelf.
Remove
Macon – Olivia Stephen
Macon is another book I don’t remember adding to my want to read shelf. The reviews this book has are good, but just like with the previous book, I’ll be taking it off of my shelf.

Removal Percentage: 50%
Current “to-read” shelf: 754
So that’s a wrap for this Down the TBR Hole. I did manage to remove half of the books from my want to read shelf this week. Have you read any of these? What book should I start with? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
