TTT #327| New to Me Authors I Discovered in 2023 Part 2

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Top Ten Quick Reads/Books to Read When Time is Short. I’m not feeling this topic, so I decided to do last week’s topic: New to Me Authors I Discovered in 2023. Let’s take a look!

Micalea Smeltzer

Age gap romances aren’t something I normally gravitate towards, but these beautiful covers and very positive reviews caught my attention. I’m glad it did, because I read The Confidence of Wildflowers in about two sittings. And while The Resurrection of Wildflowers wasn’t necessary, I loved being with these characters for a bit longer.

Rebecca Ross

Divine Rivals is a book we all saw everywhere last year and I have to say I was a bit afraid of the hype. I decided to give it a go anyways, and it was so good!! I completely understand the hype and at the moment I’m almost done reading Ruthless Vows.

Abby Jimenez

Part of Your World was another book I saw everywhere and it’s a mix of different retellings. The author grabbed a little bit of different stories and put them all together. The baby goat was the best in this story. This was another book I couldn’t down last year.

Elsie Silver

Small town romances are some of my favorites and when Elsie Silver added some cowboys I was sold. Besides the romance in this story, I really loved the family. It’s one you’d want to join after just reading Flawless. I’m excited I got the rest of the series for Christmas, so I can be with all of these characters some more.

Jessica Joyce

As someone who was really close with her grandmother, I could really relate to our main character grieving the loss of her own grandmother. When she finds a letter to a lover that isn’t her grandfather she starts a whole journey. The fact that the grandson of this man is her high school enemy made things even more interesting.

Kennedy Ryan

Before I Let Go was such an amazing and powerful story. This book was also very emotional and I really appreciated the glimpses of our main characters in the past. I have an eARC of the next book in this trilogy that I hope to read soon.

Carissa Broadbent

The Serpent & the Wings of Night was an interesting read. I loved that there was romance, but it didn’t take over the story. The trials were clever and the ending left me wanting more. I’m actually surprised I haven’t continued with this series yet.

Raven Kennedy

This King Midas retelling was really good! A lot of people seem to enjoy Gild the least, but the fact that I loved this is very promising for the next books. I started book two, but got distracted after the last book got delayed and an extra book was announced.

Jennifer Hartmann

After reading three books by Jennifer Hartmann, I’ve come to the conclusion that this author writes very emotional books that pull in the reader. I’ll be reading Lotus very soon.

Bridget Morrissey

An adult summer camp? It actually sounds great. Even more so if it was a reading camp, haha. The characters, romance, and camp activities were all so much fun. I was smiling quite a bit while reading That Summer Feeling. When I was done I immediately ordered the author’s other book.

So here are ten new to me authors I discovered in 2023! I’ll definitely read more by every single one of these. Have you read any books by these authors? Or what are some of your new favorite authors? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
