As I’ve mentioned before, one of my important reading goals of 2023 is shrinking my physical TBR. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books I still have or subjects I want to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is been on my TBR the longest. I know I have quite a few books that have been on my TBR for years. Here are five I want to read really soon. Keep on reading to find out!
The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh
I’ve had The Beautiful on my shelf since it released in October 2019. Isabelle enjoyed this one and I want to read it. The Beautiful is described as a sultry romance and thrilling murder mystery in the synopsis. I believe the fourth and final book released last year. So if I love The Beautiful, I have three more books to read.
The Kingdom of Back – Marie Lu
The Kingdom of Back is another book that’s been on my shelf for almost four years. Part of me bought this book pure for the cover, because it is really stunning. I love that this is historical fiction with a touch of magical realism. I’ve read books by Marie Lu before and enjoyed them, so I’m excited about this one.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass – Melissa Bashardoust
Girls Made of Snow and Glass has such a simple cover, but it’s stunning. I can’t believe I have to say this, but this book has been on my shelf for over six years. Oops! Retellings and reimaginings are something I love reading and I don’t think I’ve ever read one about Snow White.
The Fandom – Anna Day
Another book that’s been on my TBR for six years is The Fandom. Sign me up for anything that has a character that loves a fandom of any kind. To make it even more interesting, our main character is transported into this fandom.
Dangerous Girls – Abigail Haas
Dangerous Girls released in 2013, but I haven’t had it on my shelf for that long. Isabelle loves this book and wanted me to read it (which I still haven’t, oops, haha). So it has been on my TBR for at least four or five years. This thriller sounds amazing and I need to prioritize Dangerous Girls in 2024.
That’s five books that’s been on my TBR for way too long honestly, haha. Have you read any of these? If so, which one should I pick up first? Or what books have been on your TBR the longest? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
