We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe that 2023 is already over. The holidays really flew by. Christmas was spent at home with my mother and boyfriend and was really nice. The 26th was the boyfriend’s birthday and we had his parents over for dinner. On New Year’s Eve we spent a relaxing evening at home. We played the game Hitster and it was a lot of fun.

In the first week of the year we had some friends over, because a friend could help my boyfriend get some wiring done for the internet and then we played a Marvel Zombies before they left. On Saturday we had book club. It does feel good to get back to some normal things.

Since my last Royal Update I’ve added three eARCs to my Kindle: Swiped, The Five Year Lie, and How to Solve Your Own Murder.

Since my last Royal Update I’ve finished reading: Matching All the Way, Big Nick Energy, Snowed In, The Fake Mate, Faking Christmas, The Book Club Hotel, Iron Flame, Same Time Next Year, The Hobbit, and That’s Not My Name.

I’m currently reading: Bonesmith, Yellowface, The Foxglove King, and Good Game.

Next I’ll be reading: Empire of the Vampire, Fly with Me, Behind the Net, and The Fake Out.

I have to say bookish news was a bit quiet during the holidays, but there is a cover reveal for Heavenbreaker that I want to share. It seems that Red Tower Books is going to be brings us some stunning books in 2024.

Since my last Royal Update I’ve watched Family Switch and I loved this Freaky Friday type of movie. It was one that made me laugh out loud and I loved that there was a holiday element to it. I’ve also watched After Everything since last time. Watching these movies really makes me want to read this series all over again.

I decided to start trying out some of the playlists that Spotify recommends. This Confidence Boost playlist has some artist I love, but also has some I’ve never heard of. It’s been interesting so far.
