Last week I shared the first 8 books of the 24 books I would love to read in 2024. While my reading goal is to read 52 books and so 24 from my current TBR would be a massive achievement, I’d still like to try! Candyce also shared the 24 books she wants to read this year and today I want to share the next 8 books. So let’s jump in!
9. Empire of the Vampire – Jay Kristoff
Now that I have finished the Nevernight series I’ve finally allowed myself to start this next Jay Kristoff book. I’m really excited to dive into this world, although the book is huge so it does look intimidating.
10. The Bone Shard Daughter – Andrea Stewart
This one has been on many of my TBR’s and I just keep repeating myself haha. I truly think I will love this one and it’s nice knowing the series is completed so I can read all of it once I finally pick this one up. The reviews are really positive and have my expectations pretty high.
11. Space Opera – Catherynne M. Valente
Another one that has been on a lot of my TBR’s haha. I keep saying I want to read more scifi and this sounds like a lot of fun! The reviews are all over the place so I hope I’m right in thinking this might be one I will really enjoy. There is also a sequel coming out this year so this would be the perfect time to pick it up.
12. Save the Date – Morgan Matson
I don’t own that many contemporary books but this is one that has been on my TBR for quite a while. Morgan Matson writes cute and fun books and I’m still excited to read this one. I do think it’ll be a summer read as that would fit the vibe a lot more.
13. Call Down the Hawk – Maggie Stiefvater
Why is this one still on my TBR? I adore the Raven Cycle series so much and Ronan has always been my favorite character. So a spin-off series with Ronan as the mc was an instant buy. Even though I really dislike that cover…. Might that be the reason I still haven’t read this? I do really want to read it soon.
14. The City of Brass – S.A. Chakraborty
Last year I read The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by S.A. Chakraborty and loved it a lot. So I hope to finally dive into The City of Brass. It’s been on my TBR for a while now and I’ve heard great things about the series. I can’t wait to read more by S.A. Chakraborty.
15. Record of a Spaceborn Few – Becky Chambers
Like I said, I am always saying I want to read more scifi and this is just the most chill scifi ever. I adore Becky Chambers’ writing and really liked the first two books in this series. This is the perfect series for a contemporary reader to get into scifi in my opinion.
16. A Curious Beginning – Deanna Rayburn
A historical mystery thriller that is beloved by some of my reader friends. I have been wanting to read this for a while now. It sounds like a great read and I think it could be a pretty fast read as well. It is a bit lower on my TBR than some of the others but I would still love to read it!
These are the next 8 books on my 24 in 2024 list! It would be so great if I could cross of at least a couple of these. Next time I’ll have the final part of my 24 in 2024. What do you think of the list so far? Any surprises on here? Let me know in the comments!
Empire of the Vampire is so good! I hope you love it!
