Candyce shared a first part of her list of 24 books she wants to read in 2024. And while my goal is to read 52 books in 2024 and 24 books is almost half of that goal, I still want to think about the 24 book I really want to read in 2024 as well! Candyce is doing 2 parts but I’m lazy today so I’m making it 3 parts haha. Today I’ll share the first 8 books on my list. Let’s jump in!

Jade City – Fonda Lee

This book has been on way too many lists and I keep saying I want to read it badly. So 2024 should really be the year I finally do so. This book sounds like it was written for me and I have heard nothing but great things.

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow – Gabrielle Zevin

Another one I have heard great things about. I wouldn’t say this is my preferred genre and I’m really curious to see what I’ll think about it. The synopsis does sound really interesting and I think I could really enjoy this if I’m in the right mood!

Assistant to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maehrer

Just looking at the map in this book makes me happy! I just know this is going to be great and to be honest I want to pick it up right now just because I’m writing about it haha. This might be one of my first 2024 reads! I’ll put it on my nightstand and see if I still feel this way on Monday ;).

The Atlas Six – Olivie Blake

I’m so curious about this one! The third book in the series comes out this year so I would say 2024 is the perfect time to read this. I’m not sure what to expect, is this actually good or just really hyped? We’ll see where I fall on that scale!

Before the Coffee Gets Cold – Toshikazu Kawaguchi

I did start reading this one a while ago and I really want to get back to it. The premise is so cool and I love reading about time travelling. This is also a pretty short book so it would be a great way to cross another book of my TBR.

Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard

I adore this series and I’m so ashamed I still haven’t read this one. The fourth book is also out and it looks like we might get the fifth and final book this year. So I guess this is another book that is perfect to finally read in 2024! I might need to reread the other books first because it has been awhile….

The Hero of Ages – Brandon Sanderson

I loved the first two Mistborn books and I really want to finish this first trilogy! Slowly, very slowly I’m crossing off more and more Cosmereverse books and I hope to do so again in 2024. There is still so much Brandon Sanderson I have to read and he keeps writing so I have to read faster haha.

The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon

My cousins girlfriend wrote her thesis about this book and another friend loves is so much as well. So I guess 2024 is the year for me to tackle this big book! I have pretty high hopes for it as it sounds like a book I will enjoy a lot but I am still intimidated haha.
