Royal Update #206

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

Unfortunately, the last two weeks didn’t start off great, because I ended up sick. Because of this, I ended up missing the boyfriend’s birthday festivities with our friends. This is a frustrating cold, because I’m still not over it yet. Thankfully I did end up better enough to go see The Nutcracker on the 18th with my mom. We went out to dinner before and had a great time. Both of us have been wanting to see it for years and I’m thankful we got to cross it off of our list.

Last Thursday the boyfriend and I went out to dinner and saw Lindsey Stirling’s Christmas show. We decided to do this to celebrate our 14th anniversary that just happens to be today on Christmas. The show was amazing and I’ll definitely be seeing her again if she comes back here. After the show we stayed at a hotel, so I would actually be able to get more than a few hours of sleep before work on Friday.

Since my last Royal Update I’ve added two new eARCs to my Kindle: Barely Even Friends and Valley Verified.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: No Boy Summer, Deviant King, A Holly Jolly Ever After, Part of Your World, The Followers, My Ex-mas Emergency, and Finding My Elf.

I’m currently reading: Iron Flame, The Fake Mate, The Christmas Wager and Matching All the Way.

Next I’m hoping to read: Golden Son, Betting on You, and The Kingdom of Sweets.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks at work, so I haven’t really been keeping an eye out for bookish news. There is one cover reveal I do want to share, because this is a book I really want to read.

Last weekend it was my turn to pick the movie we watched during our weekly movie night. Candy Cane Lane was on Amazon Prime, so I had to watch that movie. It was a great movie and perfect for this time of year.

Just like last week, I’ve been listening to Lindsey Stirling’s Christmas albums. First to get in the spirit before seeing her show and then afterwards to keep it going. It really was the perfect show to see a few days before Christmas.

This was my final Royal Update of 2023! That’s such a weird idea. If you celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas! Also, I hope 2024 is an amazing year for us all. How have you been? Have you read or watched anything amazing lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
