WWW Wednesday #51

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Wreck the Halls – Tessa Bailey

When a song from a rock duo that broke up years ago goes viral again, the media want them to get back together. Who would be better to do this than their children? Make it a live stream and things get interesting. There was a lot of humor, but also some emotional sides to this story. I loved their romance, but I could’ve done without the third act break up. All in all, I definitely recommend Wreck the Halls.

Iris Kelly Doesn’t Date – Ashley Herring Blake

We finally got the final book in the Bright Falls trilogy and I’m sad it’s over. Iris hasn’t had the best of luck with dating, but a fake relationship won’t hurt right? Iris and Stevie decide to date to help Iris get inspiration for her romance book and Stevie convince her ex and friends she’s moved on. Real feelings start to develop and things get messy! I loved this book and all of the cameos of the characters from the previous books.

Book Boyfriend – Claire Kingsley

I mean with a title like Book Boyfriend I had to read it! The male main character is a romance author and I loved that side of this story. Things get interesting when he finds out the woman he’s dating is actually the blogger he chats a lot with under his author name. It was a fun book, but I do think it took too long for everything to be revealed.

What are you currently reading?

If the Shoe Fits – Julie Murphy

Before the end of the year I’m trying to fit in some more backlist books. If the Shoe Fits is a book I found under the Christmas tree last year, so it’s time to read it. This book is a Cinderella retelling and also has our plus-sized main character on a reality dating shoe. To make it even more fun, she designs shoes. So far I’m really enjoying If the Shoe Fits. I really appreciate that for once the stepmother and stepsisters aren’t evil.

Perfect on Paper- Sophie Gonzales

I don’t think I can described Perfect on Paper better than the first line of the synopsis: “In Perfect on Paper: a bisexual girl who gives anonymous love advice to her classmates is hired by the hot guy to help him get his ex back.” The concept of someone giving love advice is always fun and I know there is going to be a romance in here somewhere. I’ve only read about 80 pages so far, but I’m loving it.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Iron Flame – Rebecca Yarros

So this was actually on my last WWW Wednesday, but I still haven’t picked it up. Part of me is afraid for the cliffhanger I know we’re getting, haha. Also, I don’t want it to be over, because we don’t know when the next book will be released.

Plot Twist – Erin La Rosa

Plot Twist is a recent release and I have an eARC, so I want to read it soon. Our main character is a romance author, but has never been in love. She wants to reunite with her exes and find out why this has never happened. This is such an interesting concept and sounds like something right up my alley.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! Have you read any of these? Or what are you reading at the moment? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
