We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Okay, so this release is still about 9 months away and doesn’t even have a synopsis yet but I just couldn’t resist. I adored all of the previous Jane and Mary books and I can’t wait for this final Mary book.
All we know so far is that this is described as The Pirates of the Caribbean meets The Little Mermaid. With Pirates being one of my favorite movies ever I just know I’m going to love this so so much. Also, looking at the cover, it seems like we will get a big Little Mermaid storyline.
I’m really curious as to who the Mary is, readers are speculating it’s Mary Read and that would make a lot of sense. But that also makes me wonder how the writers are going to make that work with the Little Mermaid. So like I said, I’m just super curious and I wish I didn’t have to wait 9 months for this. It took me two years to pick up the first Jane book but I was so glad I did. I can’t believe that was 5 years ago! And now we’re waiting for the sixth book by these authors. Hopefully they’ll do another trilogy after this one because I just can’t get enough of these stories. Will you be picking up this one? And would you like another trilogy after this one? Let me know in the comments!
It’s always a treat when a new book is on the horizon in a much-loved series. And I’m just off to check out the Jane and Mary books, as I’m intrigued…
I’ve always meant to start this series. I love the concept and have had good success with the authors on some of their solo work. Great choice!
I love these books. The only one I haven’t read yet is My Calamity Jane, which I am hoarding until we get closer to the publication of My Salty Mary. I hope my library has the audiobook for the newer releases, too, because I have loved these books in audio quite a bit. Which of the Mary (or Jane’s) stories did you like most?
Here’s my list:
1) My Plain Jane (I am a Jane Eyre fan. This was such a lovely take on it).
2) My Imaginary Mary (I love seeing friendships in books)
3) My Contrary Mary (definitely a positive take. I couldn’t even finish Reign because Mary and Francis suffer so much. Omg).
4) My Lady Jane (it’s still fabulous).
When it comes to a series I like, I often will add it to my wish list without knowing what it’s fully about too. I love the sound of this one. The Pirates of the Caribbean meets The Little Mermaid–that’s enough to get my attention! I hope you love this one when you read it.
