With less than two months left in 2023, I’ve been thinking about all of the books I wanted to read this year and still haven’t gotten to. Of course, there’s no way I’ll get to them all before December 31st, but I think I should be able to read ten of these books before the end of 2023.
So let’s take a look at the ten books I want to prioritize!
Magnolia Parks – Jessa Hastings
Magnolia Parks is a book that’s been on my shelf for over a year and I recently bought all four books that are out, because of the cover change I don’t like. This book has been described to me as the British Gossip Girl and I’m very intrigued. The cover has a lot of different things, so I’m curious to see if I understand why after reading this one.
The Atlas Paradox – Olivie Blake
I ended up enjoying The Atlas Six a lot more than I expected. The ending was definitely left open for the story to continue. I received The Atlas Paradox for Christmas last year and keep wanting to read it. My boyfriend read it a couple of months and didn’t like it, but I’m really curious to see what I think. Also, the third book releases in January. If I do end up loving it, I want to be ready to read the third and final book.
Charm – Tracy Wolff
When I started the Crave series it kind of felt like a train wreck, but you just can’t stop watching. The series grew as it went and they were honestly rather addicting. In the first book our main character is asleep for quite some time and doesn’t remember what happened in those six months. Charm is finally the book that’s going to give us the events in that period of time. I need to know what happened!!
Binding 13 – Chloe Walsh
Binding 13 is another book that just seemed to pop up and become really popular. From what I know it’s a pretty emotional read and it’s huge (almost 900 pages). This is the first book about Johnny and Shannon. I’ve tried to not know too much, because I feel like I’ll love this book more not knowing a lot.
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow – Gabrielle Zevin
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is a book that spans thirty years and I love that idea. It’s about two friends and the world of video game design. This book covers different subjects and it say it’s a love story like we’ve never read. So many people I know absolutely loved this book, so it’s my turn to give it a go.
My Imaginary Mary – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, & Jodi Meadows
My Imaginary Mary is a book that I’m shocked I haven’t read yet. These authors bring us re-imaginings of historical events and make them magical. I love how these authors work together! My Imaginary is about Mary Shelley. I have a feeling I’m going to love this one.
The Love Wager – Lynn Painter
Lynn Painter has become one of my favorite authors and I’ve read almost everything she wrote. Except for The Love Wager. After loving Mr. Wrong Number, I’m excited to read about Hallie and Jack. I know she’ll make me laugh out loud.
Terms and Conditions – Lauren Asher
So after loving The Final Print, I didn’t end up continuing with Terms and Conditions right away. I have actually started reading in and I’d say I’ve read about 100 pages so far. I’m enjoying Declan and Iris’ story so far, but as usual I got distracted, haha.
Glint – Raven Kenedy
Glint is the second book in The Plated Prisoner series that is a King Midas retelling. I really enjoyed Gild and everyone has told me that the series gets better and better as it goes. The fifth book releases in December I believe, so I have some books to go!
The Crown of Gilded Bones – Jennifer L. Armentrout
I’m determined to finally continue with the From Blood and Ash series! I have quite a few books to catch up on and I’m amazed I haven’t had any spoilers yet. So I don’t risk it any longer, it’s really time for me to continue.
So here are ten books I want to read before the end of 2023! Have you read any of these? Or are there any that you want to read before the end of the year? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
I love the series by Lauren Asher and the one by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I hope you enjoy all of these and manage to fit them in before the end of the year.
