WWW Wednesday #49

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

A Cosmic Kind of Love – Samantha Young

I received this book for Christmas last time, so it was definitely time to finally sit down and read it. The concept was really interesting, I loved how the characters first got to know each other, because of videos she sent to an old email address. While I enjoyed most of this book, the main characters annoyed me at times and the third act break up was just frustrating.

Enchanted to Meet You – Meg Cabot

My swoonalong read this month was Enchanted to Meet You! This witchy romance was a fast and cozy read. I loved the romance and the dual POV, but I do wish we got more about the magic, events that were about to take place, and how it all worked. I understand that Enchanted to Meet You is a romance, but if there’s magic and such in a world I want to know more. The ending felt a bit rushed because of that.

Spookily Yours – Jennifer Chipman

Spookily Yours was such a fun Halloween romance. Our main character is a witch, but the familiar she adopts ends up being a demon. This book was cozy, spicy, and there wasn’t too much drama. I loved that the author didn’t make a huge deal of certain things that happen. If only we didn’t have to wait a year for the next book in the series.

What are you currently reading?

Two Twisted Crowns – Rachel Gillig

After loving One Dark Window, I was so happy to finally sit down and start Two Twisted Crowns. This sequel is dark and intense and I appreciate that we get multiple POVs. I read about half of this book last weekend and I’m excited to continue.

Divine Rivals – Rebecca Ross

Divine Rivals is a book that has a lot of hype and I have to say I’m curious. A friend and I decided to buddy read this one. At the moment I’m only a few chapters in, but I’m already liking it. This one may just live up to the hype!

There’s No Way I’d Die First – Lisa Springer

So I’m normally not a horror reader, but this YA horror was one I wanted to give a try. There’s No Way I’d Die first is about a girl who loves everything horror and is hoping by throwing a Halloween bash she’ll reach 50,000 followers and have enough hype to start a podcast. Of course, things start to go wrong and the party guests start getting killed. I’m still not sure what I think of this one, but it’s a fast read. I read 40% in about one go.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Off the Hook – Julie Olivia

So I’ll be reading this one next and probably already am when this posts comes online. I was able to get an eARC of this book. It’s a single dad/nanny romance and she’s his brother’s ex-fiancee. We all know this is going to be interesting.

Other than that, I’m not sure what I’ll be reading next. I kind of want to read everything at the moment. It’s a very annoying mood to be in.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading recently? Any amazing books you think everyone should check out? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.

  1. All of these sound like perfect Halloween reads! I especially like the sound of There’s No Way I’d Die First. I recently read You’re Not Supposed to Die Tonight by Kalynn Bayron, another YA horror, but set around a ‘scare night’ at Camp Mirror Lake. It has lots of nods to famous slasher films and it was a really fun read. It sounds like it might have a similar vibe?
