A new month has started and it’s time to talk about our previous month in books. September seems to have just flown by, but today we want to talk about our September bookhaul. Did we add any books to our shelves? Keep on reading to find out!
Candyce
September was a month I had vacation and did quite a lot of fun things. This included visiting a few bookstores, so it’s safe to say I bought myself some new books. In September I added 17 new books to my shelves. Let’s take a look!
Star Bringer – Tracy Wolff & Nina Croft
Tracy Wolff is an author I only know from the Crave series, but Star Bringer is one that has caught my attention. The sun is dying and of course that’s not good. Seven strangers get stuck together and all have secrets. This is going to be an interesting adventure.
A Lady’s Guide to Scandal – Sophie Irwin
I haven’t read the first book in this series, A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting, but I have the Illumicrate edition. So when Illumicrate announced that they were also giving us the sequel I had to order it. Look at how pretty this is!
Binding 13 & Keeping 13 – Chloe Walsh
The Boys of Tommen is a new adult series that I’ve been seeing everywhere. It was indie first and with the books being so long they were pretty expensive. They’re now traditionally published, so also cheaper. That had me excited to finally add these to my collection. Each book is over 800 pages, so I’ll be in this world for awhile.
House of Salt and Sorrows – Erin A. Craig
So I read House of Salt and Sorrows in 2019 when it was still going to be a standalone. A sequel has been released, so we decided to do this duology in our series slayers group. It’s been four years since I read it, so I decided I needed a reread.
The Long Game – Elena Armas
The Spanish Love Deception wasn’t my favorite book, but I still wanted to give this author another try. The Long Game is a grumpy/grumpy romance and a sports romance, so I’m excited to sit down and read this one.
Things We Left Behind – Lucy Score
Lucy Score has me hooked with this Knockemout trilogy and I’m excited Things We Left Behind is here. I’ve been seeing a few mixed reviews, but I think everyone has high expectations for Lucian’s story!
Every Exquisite Thing – Laura Steven
Laura Steven is one of my favorite authors since she wrote The Exact Oppostie of Okay. Every Exquisite Thing is a darker YA book, but it sounds amazing. Also, look at this cover!!
Fall of Ruin and Wrath – Jennifer L. Armentrout
Jennifer L. Armentrout is another one of my favorite authors and Fall of Ruin and Wrath is the first book in her new fantasy romance series. I’m still working on From Blood and Ash, but I’m also really curious to see what this one is about.
Powerless – Lauren Roberts
So I actually received an eARC of Powerless, because it’s releasing in the US in November. What I didn’t know was that it’s already out in the UK. The eARC can only be read on the Netgalley app. It’s not my favorite way to read, so when I saw this at the bookstore I had to pick it up. The book sounds amazing and I want to promote it.
All Rhodes Lead Here – Mariana Zapata
Mariana Zapata has been an author on my want to read list for a few years, but for some reason keep putting off. All Rhodes Lead Here is a book I’ve heard amazing things about. So I guess I’ll start here!
Forever Never – Lucy Score
Forever Never is one of Lucy Score’s standalone books and the cover is what drew me in. I feel like this will be the perfect read for the colder weather, because by the sound of that’s when this book takes place? I’m slowly trying to complete the Lucy Score collection as they’re traditionally published. It seems I’ve forgotten to take a picture of this one.
Finally MineĀ – Lucy Score
Not too long ago I read Pretend You’re Mine and loved Glora & Aldo. So I’m excited to finally own their story. I know they’ll get their happily ever, but we’ll probably get some bumps along the way.
Murder in the Family – Cara Hunter
Murder in the Family is a book I actually saw for the first time on TikTok. This book is told in episodes that include articles and interviews about a cold case. You basically have the opportunity to see if you can solve the case while reading.
Good Bad Girl – Alice Feeney
After loving two other books by Alice Feeney, I knew I needed to pick up Good Bad Girl. I don’t know much about this one, but I like to keep it that way when I start thrillers/mysteries.
Salt Kiss – Sierra Simone
Okay, so I didn’t like Priest, but I did enjoy this author’s book with Julie Murphy (A Merry Little Meet Cute). That’s why I want to give Sierra Simone another try. Salt Kiss sounds really interesting and this cover is stunning!!
Charm – Tracy Wolff
Crave is a series that I’ve devoured, but for some reason got stuck after waiting for Charm to release. I’ve been waiting for the story in Charm since reading the first book, so I decided it’s finally time for me to sit down and make sure to finish this series. After Charm I only have one more book to go, so I’m almost there.
Isabelle
Another month where I actually got new books, what is happening?! I got two new books this month but I have yet to spend my Audible credit. Let’s take a look at those books.
Every Exquisite Thing – Laura Steven
I adore Laura Steven and I love to support her. This newest release sounds like it’s right up my alley and I’m so excited to read it. The book looks gorgeous and I’m happy to have it on my shelves. I do have 2 more Laura Steven books to read and I hope to do so soon.
Assistant to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maehrer
This book already sounded exciting and fun but then I saw the map the book came with and I was sold haha. I just couldn’t resist it! Also, Candyce has read it and enjoyed it so I figured it made sense to add this one to my TBR. I’m super excited to read this one.
And that was our bookhaul for the month of September!
