Bookish Item| October TBR

I’ve said it every month this year, but how is another month almost over? This year is flying by. We’re heading into October which mean spooky season starts. Even if I don’t get too spooky, haha.

I don’t always stick to my monthly TBRs except for book club and buddy reads, but it’s still fun to talk about books I’m hoping to get soon. So let’s take a look at my October TBR.

Group Reads/Buddy Reads

Enchanted to Meet You – Meg Cabot

For my monthly swoon read, I decided to do Enchanted to Meet You. This witchy rom com has our main character working together with a stranger to try and save her village from an otherworldly force. Sounds like a perfect Halloween read.

House of Roots and Ruin – Erin A. Craig

My series slayers group is reading House of Salt and Sorrows in September, so next month we’ll be reading the sequel in this duology. I have high hopes for House of Roots and Ruin, because after reading House of Salt and Sorrows I had said I would love for it to have a sequel. My wish came true, so it’s time to see what I think.

Good Bad Girl – Alice Feeney

So far I’ve read two of Alice Feeney’s books and I loved them both (Daisy Darker & Rock Paper Scissors). I don’t know too much about Good Bad Girl, because I like going in knowing as little as possible when reading thrillers.

The Hacienda – Isabel Canas

The Hacienda is a horror book (at least it’s labeled that way), but it sounds really good and perfect for a Halloween read. I’ve heard a lot of people say amazing things, so I’m hoping I love it as well.

The Dating Plan – Sara Desai

The Dating Plan sounds like a romance right up my alley. A marriage of convenience is something I always love seeing in romances, so I’m hoping this one is as good as I think it is.

Rouge – Mona Awad

I haven’t read anything by Mona Awad yet, but I did recently buy Bunny. That’s one I constantly hear about. Rouge is Mona’s newest book that is labeled as a horror-tinted, gothic fairy tale. Quite an interesting combination.

eARCs

Two Twisted Crowns – Rachel Gillig

One Dark Window was one of my favorite books a couple of months ago and I’m so excited I have access to an eARC. Elspeth’s story had quit the adventure in the first book and I can’t wait to see how that continues in the final book of this duology.

The Hurricane Wars – Thea Guanzon

The Hurricane Wars is a book I see a lot of people talking about and it sounds amazing. I love starting a new fantasy series and get to be in a whole new magical world. We also get an enemies to lovers romance, so this should be interesting.

Curious Tides – Pascale Lacelle

Curious Tides is a dark academia fantasy following our main character who tries to find out more about the secret society that has been involved of her classmates’ deaths. I personally think a book like this is perfect for this time of year. Especially on a dark rainy day!

Physical TBR/Backlist

How to Make Friends with the Dark – Kathleen Glasgow

Girl in Pieces was such a heartbreaking book, but so well written. I’ve been wanting to read the other books I own by Kathleen Glasgow. How to Make Friends with the Dark is going to be another emotional book, because our main character is dealing with losing her mother.

A Cosmic Kind of Love – Samantha Young

I remember seeing this one everywhere when it released last year. A Cosmic Kind of Love was a book I had under the Christmas tree, so I’d say it’s time I read it. I love the concept of our main character sending emails to an email that doesn’t work anymore, but the person still gets his emails forwarded to him. I can’t wait to see this play out.

Most of All You – Mia Sheridan

I’ve had Most of All You on my shelf for quite some time and I just need to sit down and read it. This sounds like an emotional romance, but I tend to love those.

So that’s my October TBR! Have you read any of these? Or what are some books you want to read in October? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
