WWW Wednesday #44

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Summer Hates Christmas- Rachel Dove

If I’m honest, I thought I’d end up loving Summer Hates Christmas. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. I understand that the main character had a right to be pessimistic, but it was just a bit too much for me. The ending was nice though and I was happy with how it all wrapped up.

Funny You Should Ask – Elissa Sussman

Chani and Gabe meet when she interviews him before he starts in a new James Bond movie. They connect and her article goes viral, but things happen that ruins their connection. This story is split between then and now. It also includes news articles and blog posts. All of this combined together made for a really interesting story that I enjoyed. I would’ve loved a few chapters from Gabe’s POV though.

XOXO – Axie Oh

XOXO has been on my shelf for quite some time and I thought it was a good time to finally read it. This was a cute story and I enjoyed seeing Jenny explore a new side of life and culture and maybe even love. I missed a few scenes at the end of the story, but all in all, I really liked this one.

What are you currently reading?

Out on a Limb – Hannah Bonam-Young

I saw Out on a Limb while watching a booktube video and it sounded so good. I’m about 30% in and I’m enjoying the characters so far. Unexpected pregnancy romances normally aren’t my thing, but this one is really well written so far.

One More with Feeling – Elissa Sussman

Once More with Feeling released at the end of May and I got an eARC the week it released. I’m finally reading this as a buddy read with a few people on Instagram. This time we get a pop star who had her reputation ruined and who is trying to build up her career again. I’m only a few chapters in, but so far so good.

Consider Me – Becka Mack

Consider Me is almost 500 pages and I have about 30% left. I’m loving Carter and Olivia’s romance. While reading this I’ve had a grin on my face for most of the time. Part of me is really going to miss these characters.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Beartown – Fredrik Backman

I’ve mentioned this book quite a few times in my posts, but I’ll finally be reading this one in September. All I know is this takes place in a small town and something tragic happens. Hopefully I love it as much as I think I will.

Things We Hide From the Light – Lucy Score

The release of Things We Left Behind is right around the corner and while you don’t have to read these books in order, I like to. It’s nice seeing the couples we’ve already met and understand how things went down. Things We Hide From the Light is Nash’s story and he is recovering from events in Things We Never Got Over. I’m excited to finally read this one.

Divine Rivals – Rebecca Ross

Divine Rivals is being hyped everywhere at the moment and it has me curious. I know it has to do with two rival journalists and magical letters. When I start reading I’ll be trying to go in without too many expectations, because it’s so hyped.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Any new favorites? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
