Down the TBR Hole #108

I managed to read three books off of my want to read shelf on Goodreads since my last Down the TBR Hole. Including one of the books I talked about in my last post (This Might Get Awkward).

Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. This meme is now being hosted by Jody from I’m Into Books. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Current “to-read” shelf: 823 (my last post ended at 826. So that’s three books less than last time.)

Bravely – Maggie Stiefvater

Maggie Stiefvater wrote The Raven Boys and I really enjoyed that series. Bravely is a story that takes place a few years after the movie Brave ended I loved that movie. I still want to read this book and look at the stunning cover!

Keep

The Santa Suit – Mary Kay Andrews

I love everything Christmas and The Santa Suit sounds like a very heartwarming read. I’m actually surprised I haven’t read this one yet. The Santa Suit will definitely be on my December TBR this year.

Keep

With and Without You – Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka

This author duo has written quite a few books and the ones I’ve read, I really enjoyed. I didn’t know that With and Without You was based on their own romantic history. That has me even more curious. I’m hoping to catch up with their backlist before the end of the year.

Keep

Never Been Kissed – Timothy Janovsky

Never Been Kissed is a book I actually have an eARC for and still haven’t read yet. Oops! Our main character has never been kissed and wants his own movie-perfect ending. He sends emails to all the boys he loved before he came out. I love this premise and really need to prioritize this book.

Keep

Outrageously in Love – Jen Morris

Outrageously in Love is a third book of a series and the first one this week that I don’t really remember. Our main character is a bookworm, but doesn’t experience much outside of those pages. I like the idea of this book, but I don’t have it and I haven’t read the other books yet. So for now, I’m taking it off of my list!

Remove

Romancing the Gravestone – Gena Showalter & Jill Monroe

I’ve come to the conclusion that I enjoy cozy mysteries and Romancing the Gravestone sounds right up my alley. This series now has a few books and I may just have to add this to my Halloween TBR.

Keep

Intercepted – Alexa Martin

After reading Better Than Fiction by this author I have to say I’ve been curious about Alexa Martin’s other books. Intercepted is the first in a sports romance series. This still sounds good, but at the moment I don’t own these books and don’t know when I’ll get around to this series.

Remove

Violet Ghosts – Leah Thomas

Violet Ghosts sounds like an emotional read, but an interesting one. Our main character is determined to right the wrongs done to female ghosts haunted in the afterlife. The cover is also stunning!

Keep

The Lights of Prague – Nicole Jarvis

I remember seeing this book everywhere for awhile, but then it quieted down. Even though it still sounds really good, I don’t have this one either. Maybe I’ll put it on my Christmas wishlist, but until then I’m taking it off of my list.

Remove

The Bookbinder’s Daughter – Jessica Thorne

The Bookbinder’s Daughter is another one I got an eARC of I believe. Maybe it was read now? A library, books, magic, and family secrets? All elements I love in books. I may just have to pick this one up soon.

That’s another Down the TBR Hole.
