TTT #303| Fantasy Books I Want to Read Soon

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is genre freebie. So I’ve decided to talk about ten fantasy books I’m excited to read soon (either TBR or eARCs). Let’s take a look!

Divine Rivals – Rebecca Ross

Most people have probably heard of this book by now. Divine Rivals seems to have gone viral before release and it sounds so good. I finally got a copy! Two young journalists find love through a magical connection and it seems to also be enemies to lovers. I’m intrigued!

Twin Crowns – Catherine Doyle & Katherine Webber

Twin Crowns is a book I’ve also seen around quite a bit, but I just recently picked it up. I’ll actually be meeting these authors at an event October 1st. So it only seemed fitting to read a book by them first. There’s politics, magic, royalty, and twins separated at birth. I’m definitely making time to read this.

Girl, Goddess, Queen – Bea Fitzgerald

The author of Girl, Goddess, Queen is another author I’ll be meeting on October 1st. Girl, Goddess, Queen is a Hades and Persephone re-imagining and sounds like so much fun. I can’t wait to see how this one plays out.

Ink Blood Sister Scribe – Emma Torzs

Two estranged half-sisters must guide their family’s library of magical books. Need I say more? Add betrayal and magic and I’m sold.

The Hurricane Wars – Thea Guanzon

All our main character knows is war, but she may be the key to stop it from continuing. She has light magic that hasn’t been seen in years and is believed to have been wiped out. Apparently we also get an enemies-to-lovers romance.

Curious Tides – Pascale Lacelle

A dark academia that follows a teen mage that must find out the truth about a secret society that may have been involved in her classmates’ death. Those are all the elements I love in a good fantasy book.

The Hexologists – Josiah Bancroft

Our main characters are a married couple who team up together to solve magical mysteries. This concept really caught my attention and sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun. The Hexologists make me think cozy mystery/fantasy. A perfect autumn read.

Two Twisted Crowns – Rachel Gillig

I loved One Dark Window earlier this year and I’m excited to have an eARC of the sequel. I can’t say too much, because Two Twisted Crowns is a sequel. All I can say is we continue to follow Elspeth’s story.

Sign of the Slayer – Sharina Harris

As a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, this book sounds right up my alley! Our main character is at a slayer academy, but when she meets a vampire prince that’s nothing what she thinks he’ll be things may just get interesting!

Powerless – Lauren Roberts

I don’t really know much about Powerless, but the first two lines of the synopsis are what caught my attention: “She is the very thing he’s spent his whole life hunting. He is the very thing she’s spent her whole life pretending to be.” I think I’ll got into this one blind.
