Royal Update #188

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

First day back to work today! I’m getting my classroom ready for the kids coming back next week. The past 5 weeks have flown by and I can’t believe vacation is over haha. I haven’t done even half of what I planned on doing but I guess that will have to wait until the next break haha.

Last weekend I went to Budapest for four days with my best friend. We had an amazing time and it was really nice to be away for a couple of days. It was really hot the first two days so we spent most of it in two gorgeous thermal baths. The other two days we got some rain so we decided to visit some landmarks and do a little bit of shopping. We had some amazing food during the weekend and overall just had a good time of relaxing.

I’ve been granted access to a really cool eARC last week; The Hexologists by Josiah Bancroft. The synopsis sounds amazing and I really enjoyed the first book in Josiah’s Books of Babel series. I have only read Senlin Ascends so far and I should get back to that series at some point.

I’m almost done with Kingdom of Ash (and all out of tears) and a little over halfway through The Fragile Threads of Power. Like I said before, they’re both big, fantasy books and it’ll take me a bit to finish them. After Kingdom of Ash I’m rereading the rest of the Sarah J. Maas books with a friend of mine to get ready and into all the theories before Crescent City 3 releases in January. I’m not sure what I’ll read after that, maybe I’ll treat myself to some more volumes of Haikyu!

I have been watching a lot of shows lately. You might’ve seen my post about The Rookie, I’m just about to start the fifth season. I’ve watched the latest episodes of the Lincoln Lawyer, I’m up to date with Only Murders In the Building and How I Met Your Father and I started Reboot. Since I’ll be back to work starting basically now, I probably won’t be watching as much in the coming weeks.

It might get a little boring but I am still listening to Taylor Swift haha. I’m not focusing on any album, I’m just listening to all of it and still discovering some new favorites haha.

And that was my final royal update during my summer break! It’s really weird to go back but I’m excited to see my colleagues again. How has your summer been? Are you working or studying or do you still have a trip coming up? Let me know in the comments!
