5 On My TBR | Podcasts

As I’ve mentioned before, one of my important reading goals of 2023 is shrinking my physical TBR. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books I still have or subjects I want to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.

This week’s topic is animals, but I have to be honest I can’t seem to think of anything for this post. So I decided to make my own topic this week. I don’t listen to podcasts myself, but I love when the book has a character with a podcast. So that’s my topic this week!

Girl Forgotten – April Henry

Our main character starts a true crime podcast to investigate a seventeen year old cold case. She’s a true crime fan who ends up getting threats as she digs deeper. I’ve been wanting to read more thrillers, so this is a good place to start.

Missing Clarissa – Ripley Jones

I recently had to think of Missing Clarissa, because I saw that there will be a sequel. Missing Clarissa was everywhere when it released and it’s one I still really want to read. This time two best friends start a true crime podcast, but end up realizing instead of helping find the killer, they probably helped the killer instead.

What If You & Me – Roni Loren

After loving Yes & I Love You I’m actually really surprised I haven’t read the next book. Wheat If You & Me is about Andi who is a horror author and a true crime podcaster. Our main character dealt with some scary things in her past and trying to overcome her fears. Her former firefighter neighbor may just be the one to help her along!

The Last Housewife – Ashley Winstead

Our main character ended up in a cult while in college, but escaped. When she finds out the friend she escaped with has died while listening to a true crime podcast her life is turned upside down. She goes back to that place with the help of the podcaster to reveal the truth, but will she be able to stick to the task?

Radio Silence – Alice Oseman

I’m slowly trying to make my way through Alice Oseman’s backlist and Radio Silence is one of them. To be honest, I’m not really sure how the podcast plays part in this story, but it is mentioned. I can’t wait to read and find out.

So here are five books on my TBR that have podcasts in them one way or another. A few are thrillers and that makes me very excited! Have you read any of these or have any favorite books that have a podcast? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
