I love when I discover an author, love the books I read, and want to read more. It’s even better when said author has a backlist I can catch up on. I’ve decided it’s time to start taking a look at who I want to catch up with and slowly work on them.
My first backlist catch up is about the author duo Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka! This author duo is married and writes YA contemporary and have recently started writing adult romances as well. Let’s see what I’ve read and still need to read!
At the moment Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka have eight published books at the moment and one they announced releasing in 2024!
Books I’ve read
I’ve only read two books by these authors so far. One of them was a young adult contemporary (romance) and an adult romance. Always Never Yours was my first book by them and I loved that it was more than just a romance. Our main character learned a lot about herself and how she felt. This year I read their newest adult romance, Do I Know You? Our main characters are off to celebrate their wedding anniversary, but have been dealing with some problems. They pretend to be strangers in the hope of saving their marriage. It was an interesting concept and I couldn’t put it down.
Backlist Book(s) I Own and Need to Read
Out of the six books I haven’t read yet, there is only one on my shelves at the moment: If I’m Being Honest. Our main character isn’t likable, but tries to “tame” herself for her crush. We all know this is going to be an interesting journey and that she’ll fall for the person she least expects.
YA Books I Don’t Own (Yet)
It seems this author duo releases one YA book a year. The four books I have left to read are: Time of Our Lives, What’s Not to Love, With and Without You, and the newest release Never Vacation with Your Ex. All of these contemporary stories seem to follow the same recipe, but they all sound amazing.
Adult Romance I Don’t Own (Yet)
The Roughest Draft is actually their first adult romance. Our main characters are two authors that write books together. They had a falling out, but have to come together again, because their contract has them needing to write one more book.
Upcoming Adult Romance
The Breakup Tour is their next adult romance releasing in January 2024! A rising star musician gets a second chance at love. Second chance romances can be amazing, so I’m excited to read this one. The cover is pretty!
So here are the books I need to catch up to complete this author duo’s backlist. Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments!
I loved Do I Know You? such a sad but good concept.
