We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
The weather has been pretty warm here the last two weeks, but I’ve still done some fun things! We had our game night not last weekend, but the weekend before. It was a smaller group this time, but I have to say it was nice. We played some fun games and chatted a bit.
Since last Tuesday I have a little break from work (10 days off). The boyfriend and I went to a new bookstore on Friday. It was a two hour train ride to get there, but it was worth it. The store was stunning and they had some amazing books. The bookstore close to me is still my favorite though. We had a nice lunch and time out. We just didn’t appreciate the AC breaking halfway during the trip home. It was so warm! Saturday we had our monthly book club and once again it was a great discussion. I’m so glad I joined!
Since my last Royal Update I received two eARCs that I’m really excited about. I know it’s only June, but I’m looking forward to all of the Christmas books. So I’m so excited about Wreck the Halls. Also, The Hurricane Wars sounds like an amazing book!
Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: Accidentally Amy, The Confidence of Wildflowers, This is Not the Real World, Nine Liars, Midnight Mass, Meet Me at the Lake, The Resurrection of Wildflowers, Just the Nicest Couple, One Dark Window, Kings of the Wyld, and A Conjuring of Light.
At the moment I’m currently reading: The Gilded Wolves, The Bookworm Crush, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, and Aurora’s End.
Next I’m hoping to read Love & Other Words, Unfortunately Yours, and Playing for Keeps.
My favorite bookish news to share with you this week, is the cover reveal for Iron Flame. This is the sequel of Fourth Wing that releases in November and I need this book!!
I just finished the Shades of Magic trilogy and was excited that we got the UK cover for The Fragile Threads of Power. I wasn’t really a huge fan of the US cover and I’m really glad this will match my other books.
I have nothing to add to my shop log this week. I did buy some books, but you’ll see those in the bookhaul later this week.
It’s officially summer which means a lot of the time I end up binging new series on Netflix or binging older series I need to catch up on. These last two weeks I did both. I watched all ten episodes of XO, Kitty in two days and loved it. I’m so happy we’re getting a second season.
I also realized I never watched the third and final season of Love, Victor and I’m halfway through it now. I’m sad this is the last season, but I’m loving it!
I’ve been listening to a 2000s mix lately and a song from Boys Likes Girls featuring Taylor Swift was on that list and it had me curious about the band. I couldn’t remember if I had ever listened to them. They have a few catchy songs.
