Nancy Drew has been one of my absolute favourite series from the past couple of years. Last month season four started, and very unfortunately that will be the final season. I don’t understand how this show got cancelled, it’s a masterpiece in my opinion. But here we are. I watched the first couple of episodes and wanted to share my first impressions of the final season, so let’s take a look! There will be spoilers for the first 3 seasons.

Young Nancy Drew makes plans to leave her hometown for college after high school graduation, but finds herself drawn into a supernatural murder mystery.

Season 4 picks back up not too long after the end of season three. I would say the main thing we’re taking with us from season three is the curse on Nancy and Ace. Also know as the writers final opportunity to mess with all the Nace shippers haha. This will probably be a big plot point in the fourth season.

We’re also getting a brand new mystery. From the trailer I couldn’t really make sense of it just yet but after watching the first 4 episodes it becomes a lot clearer. Of course I still don’t know all of it, the season will have 13 episodes so I’m expecting a lot of twists and turns before the end. It does look like a town wide mystery, there is something weird going on that started years ago and is now kind of coming back.

I really enjoyed the first four episodes. We get into the new mystery but also solve some smaller side mysteries so there is the satisfaction of that. They do fit into the overall mystery and I really enjoy the way we slowly get to find out about that main mystery through those smaller mysteries.

Like I said, a main thing this season will be the curse and I’m happy to say it will be addressed in those first couple of episodes! There have already been some heartbreaking moments and it just makes me super excited for the next episodes. I also loved seeing George at her new job and making stuff happen for herself. Bess is enjoying her life and doing really well. And Nick is pretty much the same person he has been throughout the last season haha.

I adore these characters and this show. And like I said, I can’t believe it’s getting cancelled. At least we know ahead so I hope this final season is living up to my expectations.
