It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
Meet Me at the Lake – Carley Fortune
I’m a fan of second chance romances and Meet Me at the Lake was a great summer read. Fern and Will spent a day together and have an instant connection, but he doesn’t show up at the lake the year after as they planned. Fern runs into him again after losing her mother and being forced to make a big decision about her mother’s resort. I loved going back in the past and seeing them slowly get to know each other again. My only wish was that we also got Will’s POV.
Midnight Mass – Sierra Simone
After being on the fence about Priest, I wasn’t sure if I was going to continue with the series. My Discord book club group read the novella, Midnight Mass, so I decided to join in. Midnight Mass was not for me. I honestly don’t understand why this was written, because I don’t feel it really added anything to Tyler and Poppy’s story.
The Resurrection of Wildflowers – Micalea Smeltzer
I flew through The Confidence of Wildflowers and I was very happy that the sequel was already on my shelf. Again, I flew through this book as well and while I do feel this book could’ve easily been shortened into an epilogue, because not much happens, I still loved every minute of is. I now need to dive into Micalea Smeltzer’s backlist.

The Bookworm Crush – Lisa Brown Roberts
A friend and I decided to read The Bookworm Crush together. This book released in 2019 and I loved the first book in this series, The Replacement Crush. So far I’m loving Amy and Toff’s story. Sometimes I just need a lighthearted book like this one.
A Conjuring of Light – V.E. Schwab
In my last WWW Wednesday I was reading A Conjuring of Light as well, but it’s a 600+ page book and it’s a buddy read, so we only read five chapters a day. We will be finishing this book before the end of the week and while it’s so good I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Kings of the Wyld – Nicholas Eames
I said I was reading this one next in my last WWW Wednesday, but that didn’t happen, haha. I will be starting this the day this post comes online. Thankfully I have the rest of the week off of work, so it shouldn’t be a problem to finish this before Saturday.
The Gilded Wolves – Roshani Chokshi
The Gilded Wolves is the series slayers next series and I’m excited to give it a go. The discussion takes place on Sunday, so I definitely need to get started. This book is only a little over 300 pages, so I’m not too worried. Hopefully I love this one as much as I think I will.
Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone – Benjamin Stevenson
So I actually bought this book for the title alone after a booktuber I watch read this book in a vlog. She really enjoyed it and it sounds amazing! A family reunion with a family where everyone has killed someone seems like it’s going to get complicated. I’ll be buddyreading with a friend and I’m excited to sit down and start this one.
So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week. What are you currently reading? Or have you read any amazing books lately? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
I haven’t read any of these books so I was interested to read your thought. Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone! What a title. I would also purchase this book for the title alone.
The title of Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone immediately put it on my want-to-read when I first heard about it, and I’m hoping I’ll get a copy to read sometime soon
