We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
There is a heatwave going on here in the Netherlands and I’m not handling it well haha. I really dislike this hot weather, especially when I have to work and I’m sweating without doing anything. My brother is doing a little bit better and his currently at home, but we’re all still a bit stressed. I’m not sick anymore but I am still super tired and emotionally drained. It’s high time for summer break, just three more weeks!
I did go to a festival last week, I wasn’t really looking forward to it because of the weather and my tiredness. But it was a lot of fun, we saw some great artists and I loved spending time with friends. This weekend I had a fun afternoon with some colleagues. We played padel for two hours and had some drinks afterwards. It was my first time playing padel and I really enjoyed it. I have horrible hand-eye coördination so I didn’t do that well but it was fun!
I’ve got a very exciting eARC! After Vampires Never Get Old, we now get Mermaids Never Drown. I’m super curious about the mermaid stories we’re getting and I plan on reading this one soon.
I have finished both Queen of Shadows and The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. At the moment I’m halfway through my tandem read of Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. So I’m about to finish more big books! Not too bad considering work is still super busy and I’m very tired haha.
I haven’t been watching that much, I did start the final season of Never Have I Ever and I’ve continued my rewatch of One Tree Hill. Once my summer break starts I’ll be watching a lot more but for now this is it.
I’ve mostly been listening to my podcasts and the Hamilton musical music haha. However, I’ve also started an exciting audio fiction; Evergreen. It’s an scifi thriller and is narrated by Lana Condor and Claire Holt among others. Highly recommend!
I’m slowly getting back to more exciting Royal Updates haha. What have you been reading, watching and listening to? Do you ever listen to audio dramas or audio fiction? I would love to get some more recommendations! Let me know in the comments down below.
