We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
These past two weeks have been pretty crazy. Exactly two weeks ago my brother got admitted to the hospital with what turned out to be collapsed lung (is that the correct term in English?). He had to undergo surgery as well and is currently still in the hospital because there is still a little hole in his lung. It has been pretty emotional and exhausting for us as a family but I’m happy to report he is doing a lot better!
What made that first week even more crazy was the fact that on the day we heard my brother needed surgery I also heard my bid for a house was accepted! So if all goes according to plan, I will be a homeowner very very soon. I’m super excited about it, it’s the house of my dreams and it’s actually only 3 houses down from the house my brother bought earlier this year.
Unfortunately with all the late night in the hospital and still getting up early to go to work, I got sick this week. Not super stay home sick but still holding on, really not feeling good sick, if that makes sense? However, I have been in bed since Friday afternoon. I am going to work today, so hopefully I’m surviving the day ;).
I’m trying to take it slow on ARC’s and first finish a couple more. Once I’m done with Amina I’m diving back into some of my other amazing eARC’s and I just can’t wait haha.
I still haven’t read that much unfortunately, but I have finished The Assassin’s Blade. Now I’m listening to Queen of Shadows, and pretty close to finishing it actually, and still reading The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi.
Recently I’ve been slowing catching up on some shows, including 9-1-1, 9-1-1 Lone Star, The Backlist, The Americans, Big Sky, Not Dead Yet and Raising Hope. I’ve also watched the remaining episodes of Citadel, the start of the new season of Nancy Drew, and started The Swarm and Class of ’09. Can you tell I’ve been sick haha.
The song I currently have on repeat is You’re Losing Me by Taylor Swift, unfortunately it isn’t on Spotify or Apple Music yet but if you search it on TikTok there are a ton of people who posted the full song. I really enjoy the song and it’s been stuck in my head since I’ve first heard it.
A lot happened these past two weeks but I still haven’t been reading much. Hopefully that all changes soon! We’re a little over a month away from my summer break and I’m definitely counting down the days haha. What have you been up to this past week? Let me know in the comments!
