We’re nearing the end of May, so I’ve been starting to think about what I want to read in June. I have been mood reading and loving it lately, so I will mostly continue to do that. Here are some books I’ve been wanting to read. I don’t know how many I will end up reading, but I’m hoping at least a few.
Group Reads/Buddy Reads
So I have an in person book club every month and June’s book won’t be picked until tomorrow, so I don’t have that one listed yet.
The Fiancee Farce – Alexandria Bellefleur
I’ve already read The Fiancee Farce, but I wanted to choose this one as my swoon read in June. The first time I read this marriage of convenience, I listened to the audiobook. So maybe I’ll read the physical book this time around.
The Gilded Wolves – Roshani Chokshi
My series slayers read will be starting a new trilogy in June. The Gilded Wolves is a fantasy being described as full of mystery, decadence, and dangerous desires. I actually unhauled this book at the beginning of the year before we decided what series to tackle, haha. I’ll have to pick it up again.
Crownchasers – Rebecca Coffindaffer
Science fiction isn’t my normal go to genre, but it’s something I’ve been reading more of. As a fan of books with competitions, that’s what caught my attention when I read about Crownchasers. I have a feeling this book will be action-packed.
ARCs
No book tours this month that involve me reviewing a book, but I do have some eARCs I’m excited about reading.
Playing for Keeps – Tristen Crone
This is a grumpy/sunshine romance with a plus size MC, and has board games. That’s all I needed to know to want to read Playing for Keeps. Also, look at this pretty cover! I was so excited when I got approved for an eARC, so I’m definitely making this a priority.
Unfortunately Yours – Tessa Bailey
Secretly Yours was a cute romance and I’m excited about Natalie’s story in Unfortunately Yours. I never expected to get approved for an eARC, so it was such a pleasant surprise when I do. So of course I’m making sure to read this one before it releases on June 6th. Unfortunately Yours will probably be my first book in June.
Random Backlist Books
Since the beginning of the year I’ve been picking 3 random backlist books to read each month by using the generator my boyfriend added to my reading spreadsheet. Let’s see what I get this month.
Parachutes – Kelly Yang
Parachutes is a book that released in 2020 that I’ve been really curious about. I have a feeling it’s going to be a hard-hitting contemporary and quite a long one at that. It’s almost 500 pages. I don’t mind emotional reads though!
The Bookish Life of Nina Hill – Abbi Waxman
As a fan of books about books how could I resist a book with the title The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. Our main character is in her own little bubble and loves reading. She doesn’t believe that life can be better than fiction, but she may just be proven wrong.
Little Creeping Things – Chelsea Ichaso
Okay, so even though this cover still creeps me out, I need to read Little Creeping Things. I’ve been in a thriller mood lately, so why not start with this one? Our main character has been told she started a fire as a child that accidentally killed her neighbor. When her bully goes missing she needs to solve the crime before the finger being pointed at her.
So that’s what I’m hoping to read this month! Have you read any of these? Or what are you hoping to read next month? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
Little Creeping Things definitely looks creepy!
I loved The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. I have another by this author that I need to read.
