It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
The Fiancee Farce – Alexandria Bellefleur
As a fan of fake dating and marriage of convenience I had high expectations for The Fiancee Farce. This book met all of my expectations and then some. I enjoyed the banter, the spicy moments, the emotional side of things, and just the happily ever after.
What the Hex – Jessica Clare
The first book in this series, Go Hex Yourself, was one I enjoyed, but wasn’t wowed over. What the Hex was a book I enjoyed a bit more and it had me laughing out loud. I have to say this one was more spicy than I was expecting, but it worked well for this story. Penny was a character I was curious about after the first book and it was great seeing her get her own story.
The Guy For Me – Marzy Opal
The Guy For Me is a novella that I saw someone on Twitter talk about. These two characters met during a pen pal program in high school and continued texting after. Becoming best friends and feeling more made Mabel really want to meet Liam. It finally happens and it’s so sweet. Short stories are hit and miss for me, but this one worked. Even though I would’ve loved a full length novel about these two.
What are you currently reading?
Hooked – Emily McIntire
The Never After series is one I’ve seen everywhere. These books are fractured retellings and the villains are the main characters. I’m about 20% into Hooked (that’s based on Peter Pan) and I’m loving it so far. I have to say this is a darker story, so be aware of that before picking it up. Hooked is going to be a book I wished I read earlier!
I Like You Like That – Kayla Grosse
I just recently started this, but our main character is a plus sized singer who has a stalker. The male main character is the bodyguard and someone our main character knows. Just by the first chapter I know this is going to be a great book.
When in Rome – Sarah Adams
When in Rome is a book I’ve heard amazing things about and have had an eARC of for way too long. I’m almost done reading it now and I’m loving it. Being a pop star has to be stressful and having so many rules to follow to keep your image has to be exhausting. So when her car crashes in a small town, she gets to relax for awhile. And she may just find love!
What do you think you’ll read next?
Green Jewel – LJ Evans
One of my favorite authors is getting ready to release Green Jewel (the second book in The Painted Daisies series). This time we get an enemies-to-lovers single dad romance. I’m grateful to be on LJ’s ARC team and I’m so excited to sit down and read this one. I still have so many questions.
Coach – Devney Perry
For some reason I’ve been in the mood for sport romances and Devney Perry is an author I love, so when I heard about Coach I knew I needed to read it. This book released last week, so it seems like a good time to read this single dad sports romance.
The Neighbor Favor – Kristina Forest
This month my swoon read for TBR and Beyond is The Neighbor Favor. Our main character wants to work in children’s books and doesn’t know the guy she’s been talking to is actually her favorite fantasy author. I love books that are about books in a certain way or have characters that love books. So I have high expectations for this one.
So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week. What have you been reading recently? Find any new favorites? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
When In Rome sounds so cute, I keep seeing it around, I think I might like it too~!
