Royal Update #170

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I don’t have much to talk about for the last two weeks. I went back to work after two weeks off and I can tell you it was rough. On Saturday we had our book club friends over for some board games. That was a lot of fun. We got to get to know them a bit more than just the monthly meet to discuss a book.

Last week I had to work an extra day and believe me when I say I’m feeling it this weekend, haha. Let’s just say I didn’t do much besides working. I didn’t even read much, so you know I only worked and went to sleep early. My schedule goes back to normal this week, so I’m hoping to get some extra reading done.

Since my last Royal Update I received three eARCs I’m really excited about: Death of a Bookseller, Best Men, and One of Us is Back.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating, Komi Can’t Communicate Vol. 2, Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries, Kingdom of the Cursed, The Writing Retreat, Really Good Actually, Devil of Dublin, The Sweetest Connection, and The Coven.

I’m currently reading: Whispers of War, The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi, Mad Boys, and The Guy For Me.

Next I plan on reading What the Hex and Forever His.

I’ve been busy and really haven’t kept an eye out for bookish news. So nothing really stood out to me to remember for this week’s post. Hopefully I have something fun again next time I write a Royal Update.

I haven’t done much these last two weeks, so I have nothing to add to my shop log.

Since my last Royal Update I watched two movies that I enjoyed: McFarland, USA and Magic Mike: The Last Dance. Both were fun for their own reason. McFarland, USA was heartwarming and I loved that it was based on a true story! The first two Magic Mike movies were great, so I had to watch the third. It didn’t disappoint!

So I went way back with what I was listening to, haha. Backstreet Boys were one of my first major music obsessions, haha. When scrolling through Spotify I saw Nick Carter recorded an album with a member of New Kids on the Block. I had to listen to it of course.

So that’s my Royal Update for this week! How have you been? Read or watch anything amazing lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
